Earlier today, it was a tremendous privilege to address the @AWF_Official West African journalists' workshop currently taking place in Kinshasa, DRC, where I reiterated the essential role of the #media in facilitating the success of conservation across the continent. In my video address, I emphasized that #conservation will only be effective in Africa when it aligns with the ambitions of Africans.
#WestAfrica, particularly the #CongoBasin, is home to some of the richest regions of biodiversity on the continent. Protecting the Congo Basin is crucial not only for Africa but for the entire planet, as it plays a vital role in regulating the global #climate. The #media industry has a crucial role in driving and implementing conservation decisions. By amplifying #Africanvoices and highlighting the importance of the Congo Basin, we can inspire change and foster a conservation spirit across the continent.
We need to collaborate, recognizing and supporting Africa-led initiatives to halt biodiversity loss. The #4thEstate has a crucial role in driving and implementing conservation strategies. By amplifying African voices and underscoring the importance of the Congo Basin, we can inspire change and promote sustainable development.
