Who gets to define a woman’s good life? Elle Woods? Jo March? A tradwife on your feed?
This spring, I’m teaching Girlbosses, Tradwives, and the Good Life at @uiwcardinals ! We’ll explore ambition, marriage, work, money, and happiness through women’s writing, fairy tales, film, and popular culture.
UIW students, come read and watch with us! Colleagues, please share with students who might be interested.
Pleasure to review this book for @BlossomOrdinary !

Schooling decisions don't have to be forever.
My teenager interviewed me for Hearth & Field this week (below, but also look for more on this via email soon if you're a subscriber), and brought up this important matter:

Such an IMMENSE musicality, and no sacrifice is made of musicality over ideas because the sound and sense are both there with clarity & precision. I have a friend who says Paul Pastor will be remembered as one of THE poets of his generation, and I'm inclined to agree
Pleased to have this new poem up today at Hearth & Field, thanks to the excellent @DixieDillonLane. Look for another new one in their beautiful new print issue, shipping (I am told) now!

"An Orphan & A European City"
A very different, very fun podcast episode today: @tsh and I talk about books, orphans, Parisian childhood, and martial arts. We discovered a thread in my choices...what a title!
I recommend two books and two places and...

Hearth & Field is delighted to share a new poem by @pauljpastor, "Yes."
The poem will also be included in Paul's new collection of verse, The Crystal Hand, coming this December from @WisebloodBooks . I hear review copies are available now!
Can confirm, @NadyaWilliams81 is a real human being (who makes a mean cup of coffee)! And I can't wait for this beautiful book.
I heartily approve of this honest marketing for my next book, dropping February 2027! amazon.com/Literate-Soul-Tho…

The countdown is ON! Per kids' requests, bringing 100 glow in the dark bracelets, so we can send kids out to play in the pasture in the dark.
Discussing our annual Bad Moms Retreat to Beautiful & Exotic Rural Pennsylvania with the kids this morning. My three year old daughter in particular has spent the last year joyously thinking about “Pen-Sib-Ania.”
Everyday, I have reason to be glad of the amazing friends I met on this website, including @NadyaWilliams81 and @DixieDillonLane.
My children are so excited about this retreat, but I am more excited still. So grateful for @IvanaDGreco & @NadyaWilliams81 and the way we help each other just do things!

Nadya Williams reflects on the 2026 Front Porch Republic conference this past weekend in Indianapolis where she reflected on "this fragmented nature of modern neighborhoods." She helps us consider how to love our neighbors more.

Hey, my first book is on sale, so you can stock up on Christmas presents early!
The paperback version of Cultural Christians in the Early Church: A Historical and Practical Introduction to Christians in the Greco-Roman World by @NadyaWilliams81 is ON SALE for $11.19
'Nadya Williams has written a fascinating account of how Christians have, since ancient times, faced the temptation to imitate resident cultures rather than adopt an authentic Christian life. Whether it is about food, sex, money, or politics, Christians have, from the Tiber to Tallahassee, faced the temptation to give themselves over to worldly vices rather than holy habits. An excellent example of how understanding the struggle of Christianity and culture in antiquity can help us to understand our own cultural struggles in the present. Thoroughly recommended!' -- Rev. Dr. @mbird12, academic dean, Ridley College, Melbourne, Australia
