We paid £30m for Rayan Cherki because he’s a £30m player. Good against Ipswich and Coventry, but invisible on big nights. It’s not his fault, though. He’s simply not made for the big occasions. The sooner Maresca grows a pair and benches him, the better off we’ll be.

شيركي لاعب ممتع وموهوب، لكن هل تقدر تبني فريق حواليه؟ مشكلتي معاه إنه قدام الفرق المنظمة دفاعيًا بيواجه صعوبة في التأثير على اللعب، خصوصًا في المساحات الضيقة وضد الضغط والالتحامات، وده بيحد من قدرته على استلام الكورة في مناطق خطيرة. موهوب؟ أكيد. لكن مش لاعب تضمن إنه ينقذك كل أسبوع. ممكن يكون إضافة قوية من على الدكة، لكن مش الركيزة اللي تبني عليها مشروعك. مستواه قدام ليفربول وهو بـ11 لاعب وقدام باريس بيأكد نفس الفكرة. بس أنا متفهم إن مع أول مهارة أو جول حلو، الناس بتنسى كل ده وبتبني رأيها على لحظة واحدة.

Cherki against this midfield is really showing up his biggest deficiency, without the ball he has a lot to do despite the ridiculous benefits when in possession. That being said I dont think Anderson or Enzo Fernandez are pulling up any trees, getting dragged all over the place. PSG 3 IN A ROW???
