For those who know me well, my favorite Chicago summer pastime is to watch performances at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millenium Park. The finale of the season is always the @LyricOpera performance, a preview of the upcoming season. Thankful that I can be here. With my husband. ❤️

Summer in Chicago is a special time. The city comes alive with music and the lake is teeming with boats! My favorite thing to do is to go to the Grant Park Music Festival, have a picnic and listen to music under the stars with the city as a backdrop. Summer has officially begun.

You think it’s tough to see a doctor now? Without immediate action, it’s about to get a lot worse. J-1 visa delays could prevent international medical graduates (IMGs) from starting their training this July, leaving hospitals short-staffed and patients at risk. As Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, @PresAmerMed, states: IMGs aren’t taking jobs; they’re filling critical gaps in communities like Flint, MI, and across rural America. The AMA has urged the State Department to prioritize visa appointments for these essential physicians. We must act now so patients can get the care they deserve. The mean age of physicians who leave clinical practice in the US is now 48.1 years, 9 years younger than observed in a similar cohort in 2008.
The biggest causes cited were stress and the hassles of practice.
11% of women decided not to even enter practice.
What are your thoughts about this?

Heard of new Medicare TEAM (Transforming Episode Accountability Model)? It started in January, is mandatory for designated hospitals, and bundles payment for CABG, joint replacement, bowel, hip fracture, and spine surgery.

This is such a huge win for our seniors. In 2019 utilization was low. COVID accelerated adoption to the point even my mom loves it. Thank you @AmerMedicalAssn for continuing to advocate for this. #Medicare #SeniorCare #PhysicianAdvocacy
For the next two years, Medicare patients and physicians will be able to use telehealth services knowing that they will be covered without interruption.
The recently passed government funding package—the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026—renewed the telehealth coverage that so many older adults have relied on since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, an extension that the AMA strongly supports and continues to advocate to make permanent. spr.ly/6011h2bS7
