‘I had never seen her films before we got married.’ ❤️ Imagine falling in love with one of Bollywood's biggest superstars, without knowing just how famous she was! Speaking to Shereen Bhan on Young Turks Reloaded, cardiac surgeon and author of '21 Days to Good Health', Dr Shriram Nene opens up about his marriage to Madhuri Dixit, navigating fame and privacy, and building a relationship of equals. ‘We dated for three months, and then I proposed’ , he recalls, revealing how their shared middle-class upbringing and mutual respect helped shape their partnership. From being the recognised heart surgeon in the US to embracing Madhuri's extraordinary fame in India, Dr Nene shares why he has never felt overshadowed. ‘She is generational in her talent, and we all learn from her grace more than anything else.’ @ShereenBhan @DoctorNene @Rupa_Books

My guess is you have inflamed airways after a viral or bacterial upper respiratory infection. It can take up to six weeks for the airways to normalize. Air pollution can exacerbate it. See a doc and get some pulmonary function tests and see if inhaled meds might be appropriate(eg bronchodilators or steroids). Don’t do it without seeing a doc.
What is this strange cough going around? My brother & I, and practically everyone I know has it. Just isnt going. Full antibiotics course done. Every ayurvedic & allopathic cure we can think off has been tried. More than 20 days now. No fever or anything else. Constant cough, particularly when we speak.

When are we going together?
Was in Delhi recently and took the opportunity to return, after far too long, to that timeless restaurant in Old Delhi, Chor Bizarre. This is where it all began for the enormously talented restaurateur Rohit Khattar. Where he transformed his family-owned Hotel Broadway’s dining room into a wonderfully quirky take on Mumbai’s Chor Bazaar. And where, even today, you can savour some of the most authentic Kashmiri cuisine. Rohit also continues to excel at nurturing young culinary talent. Chef Shivali treated us not just to a memorable meal, but to the fascinating folklore behind Kashmiri food. Rohit’s family and ours go back four generations. But it was after Chor Bizarre that I began investing in his remarkable entrepreneurial talent, following him on his culinary adventures across London, New York and India. Indian Accent is, of course, the jewel in his crown. But Comorin, Hosa, Fireback and All American Diner are testimony to his seemingly inexhaustible ability to dream up new dining experiences. Three of those brands already feature in India’s Top 50 restaurant rankings… And now that I’ve made full disclosure of my financial interest in Rohit’s company, let me reiterate my strong recommendation to those visiting Delhi: Go back to where it all began. Sample the extraordinary cuisine, character and ambience of the original. The OG. Chor Bizarre.

Well said. Gotta start somewhere. The smartest minds are here. Let’s see what happens together.
Apple’s iPhone story in India is a plus and a minus. FY26 production: $26 billion Exports: $21.5 billion Component imports: $22.3 billion Electronics PLI incentives: ₹19,090 crore Jobs generated: 1.67 lakh The plus: jobs, exports, technology transfer and global supply-chain integration. The minus: heavy subsidies, imported components and limited domestic value addition. It will really make sense now to move from assembling iPhones to designing, engineering and inventing the technology inside them.

Your body has a way of finding its way back to calm. The trick is learning how to help it. In 21 Days to Good Health, I explore how simple breathing practices can help regulate your stress response, even in the middle of a demanding day. Try a longer, slower exhale and notice how you feel. Sometimes, a small shift in how you breathe can change how you meet a stressful moment. What’s something you watched your parents or grandparents enjoy that you hope to keep doing at their age? Cooking for everyone? Travelling? Gardening? Dancing? That’s a useful place to begin a conversation about healthspan. #Healthspan #HealthyAgeing #ActiveAgeing #LifelongWellbeing

When we picture our future, we picture the places we’ll visit, the people we’ll spend time with and the things we’ll still love doing. We rarely picture the bones making it all possible. This World Osteoporosis Day, let’s give bone health a place in that picture. Osteoporosis can develop without obvious symptoms. Feeling well doesn’t always tell us how strong our bones are, which is why understanding our personal risk matters. Good nutrition, including enough calcium, protein and vitamin D, and appropriate weight-bearing and strengthening exercise all support bone health. For people with osteoporosis, medical assessment and treatment may also be needed. A useful question for your next health check: “Given my age, family history, medicines and any previous fractures, should we assess my bone health?” To me, healthspan means preserving the ability to take part in the life we value. Caring for our bones is part of caring for that future. What’s one thing you hope to keep doing for years to come? #WorldOsteoporosisDay #BoneHealth #Healthspan #HealthyAgeing #DrNene

The biggest battle for better health isn't always against disease. Sometimes, it's against the habit of saying, "I'll start tomorrow." Every Dussehra, we celebrate the victory of good over evil. But what about the quiet battles we fight every day? The check-up we keep postponing. The walk we never take. The sleep we sacrifice. The healthier choices we promise to make… someday. The truth is, good health doesn't wait for the perfect moment. It begins with a decision. TODAY. That's the very idea behind my book, 21 Days to Good Health. Small, science-backed steps that help turn good intentions into lasting habits. This Dussehra, don't just celebrate victory. Create one of your own. Choose yourself. Choose prevention. Choose better health. Because the most powerful change you can make is to stop waiting to begin. ❤️ Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and meaningful Dussehra! 🙏 📖 Your 21-day journey starts here. ‘Sitting is the new smoking.’ 🚨 Think an hour at the gym can undo an entire day at your desk? Think again! ‘You can't spend an hour in the gym and expect to overcome 11 hours in a chair.’ Speaking to Shereen Bhan on Young Turks Reloaded, cardiac surgeon and ‘21 Days to Good Health’ author Dr Shriram Nene shares his health non-negotiables - from nutrition, movement and quality sleep to stress management and the power of human connection. His advice goes beyond diet and exercise. Everyone needs what he calls ‘the 3 a.m. buddies’ - friends or family you can call in the middle of the night when you need help. For Dr Nene, strong relationships, trust and community are as important to well-being as building healthy daily habits. @ShereenBhan @DrNeneOfficial  #YoungTurksReloaded #ShriramNene #HeartHealth #WeekendWarrior
