If I use the Kelly criterion for my bets, what’s the best approach to using that alongside parlays?

How can two bets with a 2% edge turn into a 47% edge? The answer lies in one of sports betting's most interesting strategies: middling. Here's how the math works w/ @DoctorRazzWSOP 🧵

Another great piece and @KrisAbdelmessih made a great TIPS tutorial vid here: youtu.be/Ws76uSkdllQ?is=Ig0Y… Question for you both: if you can only invest in 30-year TIPS and an S&P500 ETF, and the expected real yield of both are the same, what asset allocation should you use?
TIPS are back in the news and that inevitably means confusion about how investors should view them. Here's a fun thing to think about: A boat tied to a floating dock rises and falls with every tide. Measure it against the seabed and it never stops moving. Measure it against the dock from where you’ll step aboard, and it barely moves at all. Long-term TIPS are like that boat: volatile in today’s dollars, but remarkably steady measured against the real spending they’ll support. Seen this way, most of the confusion about TIPS disappears. They do exactly what they were designed to do. And as the safest asset going, their real yield is the natural benchmark against which to judge the stock market’s expected real return when you decide how much to invest in stocks.

The people in the comments of this post have a right to their own opinions about the cause. Many of them either blame or suspect the Covid-19 vax. The study in question only includes data until 2020.

The one thing I disagree with Vic about is the idea that “it’s good to think about investing as being two decisions.” IMHO there’s only one decision: how much to invest in an asset. But often, the answer is 0.
