They DID the work! Local organizing, civics, turning up at the polls etc. Not just a miracle.
I don’t know if those who are categorical that there can be no miracles in elections are following the happenings in Serbia and Brazil. Im super encouraged for 2027 because we in Kenya pray to the same God. Inshallah we get ours too.

Earlier this morning, the Ebola patient in Nigeria and her contact, who is also her husband, were medically evacuated to Switzerland. The reasons for the evacuation are: ✅ Both the patient and her husband are Swiss citizens. ✅ The patient is clinically stable. The Nigerian medical team successfully managed her through the acute phase of the illness and stabilized her condition. On behalf of WHO and all partners, I warmly congratulate the Government of Nigeria, health workers, clinicians, emergency responders and all those involved in the response. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to what Africa can accomplish when we work together. With the evacuation of the patient and her husband, Nigeria currently has no Ebola cases. However, vigilance remains critical. Nigeria will continue the close follow-up of 52 contacts, while Switzerland will assume responsibility for the continued management of the patient and the follow-up of contact number 53, her husband. Congratulations once again to everyone involved. This is a proud moment demonstrating African expertise, resilience, and leadership in public health. No entanto, é fundamental manter a vigilância.
I Confirm that, with my approval, earlier this morning, the index case for Nigeria’s first imported Ebola virus disease departed Abuja for Switzerland. The index patient was clinically much improved, stable, conscious, communicating, and her clinical laboratory test results closing towards baseline. This does not mean she is not still infectious, hence the strict protocols in place. The patient was evacuated along with her spouse who has remained asymptomatic. I thank all the various clinical staff for the high quality care they provided the patient as well as the public health personnel who ensured the evacuation was carried out in line with best public health measures for such evacuations. We will provide further updates later this afternoon after the patient and her spouse lands successfully in their destination. All public health measures are continuing to ensure successful containment of the imported virus. I urge Nigerians to remain vigilant and rely on information from credible sources.

Aden Duale: Sifuna lost two times in Bungoma, he became a senator because of Baba and Luo votes and he will not get it this time. Sifuna is going to the election for the very first time, in fact, at a very high, from a senator to a president. I don’t even know whether he has the resources. I don’t think Sifuna can call the MPs of Western in Serena, buy them lunch and give them allowances. Oparanya, Wetangula and Musalia can do. Sifuna is driving on the Thika Super Highway or the Expressway at high speed and he is going to crash very soon politically. Ndindi Nyoro and Gachagua are tribalists #CitizenSundayLive

This is absolutely great because the cost of “Respiratory BioFire” panels come at such a high cost of patient with most private insurance not accepting it as outpatient cover. The season of the viruses is upon us. Will definitely be sending referrals!
𝐅𝐋𝐔 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄❗️IDENTIFYING THE CAUSE OF THE FLU SYMPTOMS USING MULTIPLEX PCR HELPS GUIDE TREATMENT — TESTING OPTIONS AT DKL COMPETITIVELY LOW PRICING, RESULTS WITHIN A FEW HOURS 🤒🦠😷 Influenza and other respiratory viruses, including RSV and SARS-CoV-2, circulate year-round in Kenya. Seasonal increases vary by virus, year and region, with influenza peaks documented around to start from October and November. Similar symptoms can have different causes. Influenza, RSV, COVID-19 and other respiratory infections can all cause cough, fever, sore throat and body aches. Symptoms alone may not reliably distinguish them. Knowing the cause helps guide management. Antiviral medicines may be appropriate for certain viral infections, particularly influenza and COVID-19, when clinically indicated. Antibiotics treat bacterial infections—they do not treat influenza or other viral infections. Viral and bacterial infections can also occur together, so test results should be interpreted alongside clinical findings. 🔴 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 (𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘-𝗗) 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗣𝗖𝗥 🎯 Detects Influenza A/B, RSV and SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). ✔️ Focused viral testing at less than half the cost of our broader panel. ⏱️ Typically 4–8 hours, depending on sample numbers. 🟡 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 (𝗤𝗜𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁-𝗗𝘅) 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗣𝗖𝗥 🎯 🎯 🎯 Detects a wider range of respiratory viruses and selected bacteria, including influenza, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, other coronaviruses, adenovirus, parainfluenza, rhinovirus, Mycoplasma and Bordetella, among others. ☑️ Broader coverage in a single test run. ⏱️ Typically 2–4 hours. WHY KNOWING THE CAUSE MATTERS 🩺 Helps clinicians make informed treatment decisions, including targeted antiviral therapy when indicated. 💊 Supports appropriate antibiotic use—antibiotics do not treat viruses, and unnecessary use contributes to antimicrobial resistance. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Helps guide infection-control precautions to protect family, colleagues and vulnerable people. 𝙑𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙡, 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 - 𝙤𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝? Co-infections can occur. A positive viral result does not exclude bacterial infection. Q-Tip made the "Electric Relaxation" beat in Phife Dawg's grandmother's basement. She'd given him a key. Phife came home, heard Ronnie Foster's "Mystic Brew" drifting up from below and ran downstairs without even saying hi to grandma: “Yo, what the hell is that?!”

About the ebola in NIG & KEN, these are the main schools of thought I have gathered today: 1) "The cases are made up so that individuals in the government can get money from donors and WHO (to pocket)" 2)"The cases are made up so that the government in power can interfere with the upcoming elections (3 months away in NIG, 10 months in KEN)" 3) "The cases are real but they were deliberately imported for same reasons above" Whatever the reason, the dominant feeling is that our political class is so thuggish and can do anything, including tanking the economy as long as they benefit financially and politically. My take? Two things can be true at the same time: that our politicians can be thugs but the cases are real. While you are here......
