I had to break the news to my daughter that "Alfred Bester" has died. Damn. Walter Koenig played this character so well.

I’m not a huge rust fan but I do believe we should stop building bloated tools (*cough* with JS and Python). Performance matters more than ever for agents invoking tools to get stuff done.

It was a great show. Much more Spider-Man than I expected and perfectly noir. I was smack in the middle of its target audience and I loved it and everyone should watch it and get it uncanceled!

Microsoft has announced Project Zenith, a new class of devices running a specially configured Windows 11 experience that is decluttered, has different default settings, and comes with devtools preinstalled.
These new developer-class devices feature a minimum of 64GB RAM and 250GB/s memory bandwidth. AMD's Ryzen AI Halo devices will power some of the first Zenith devices, with more chip makers joining in soon.

Hugging Face just sold physical AI for $399.
Microduck is a 25cm open-source robot that walks, picks things up with its beak, gets back up when it falls, and roller-skates. You train it yourself with reinforcement learning.
While everyone else is building six-figure humanoids for demos, they shipped a duck that costs as much as a phone.

Microsoft is beginning the rollout of its new unified Copilot app experience today.
windowscentral.com/artificia…
Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot are merging under one super app, simply called Copilot. The new app begins rollout on mobile today, with opt-in options beginning to appear on Windows and MacOS.
Starting next month, the unified app will begin rolling out worldwide on Windows and macOS. The new app supports both personal and work accounts, and merges the consumer Copilot and productivity Copilot features under one experience.
The app is also getting a slightly new icon, and is losing a couple of features as a result of the merge.

Reminder that .NET 8 and .NET 9 go end-of-life and out of support in November this year (2026). That's 3 months away. You should be moving to .NET 10 or an upcoming .NET 11 RC/GA release ASAP.

Microsoft is finally paying attention to UI on Windows 11 again, and has committed to modernizing a number of new legacy UI areas with modern Windows 11 designs and frameworks. FINALLY!!
windowscentral.com/microsoft…
Areas like File Properties in File Explorer, old Windows 8 era popups, MMC-based apps like Print Management, and already confirmed areas like Start and Run are being rewritten with WinUI 3.
That means they're being overhauled with a more consistent design that matches the rest of the Windows 11 aesthetic. One of my biggest gripes on Windows has always been its inconsistent UI (which is why I dislike Windows 10.)
Windows 11 is taking steps to remedy this, and while there's still a long way to go, it's clear the company is finally interested in taking pride in the design and craft of the OS again. That makes me a happy user.
