🚨 DOMAIN APPRAISALS: SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG.
Today, I decided to revisit the asking prices on several of the 20+ .AI domains I own, including five listed on Afternic.
As I began updating prices, I noticed GoDaddy's automated appraisals displayed alongside my listings.
The first was SFJ.ai: $178,144.
I was stunned.
Naturally, I decided to compare GoDaddy's valuations against Atom's.
The results were astonishing.
💰 My asking price: $37,888 each.
📈 GoDaddy appraisals: $67,302 to $178,144.
📉 Atom appraisals: $4,600 to $15,500.
Same five domains. Two major domain-marketplace platforms. Wildly different valuations.
Let that sink in.
Can anyone name another major industry where two prominent valuation services produce estimates so dramatically different for the EXACT SAME ASSETS?
These aren't minor disagreements. They represent fundamentally different opinions of value.
And yet, domain investors and buyers are supposed to take automated appraisals seriously?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Automated domain appraisals have ZERO credibility as definitive indicators of market value.
A domain is ultimately worth what an informed, motivated buyer is willing to pay—and what its owner is willing to accept.
I rest my case.

Oh FFS. Thank you for your concern Sam, but don’t spread your FUD and doom bait in my waters.
I lead one of the most utilized Linux operating systems in the world for data centers and enterprises, and I founded its predecessor too.
While AI is surely accelerating finding human created security issues, it is a temporary problem, and most open source project leads have already figured out how to also use AI to reduce new bugs moving forward.
Here is a graph from GKH (who maintains the stable kernel) on how many CVEs they are remediating per release:

This graph describes how much better each release is now getting:

This doom based marketing approach that the AI labs are pushing is really short sighted. While this will of course drive business to us, I find it unethical to distort the truth and use scare tactics in messaging.
The greater truth is that AI is making the software industry more secure, by identifying the human errors in code, and soon we will end up in a much better place.
🚨Sam Altman says the internet can no longer be SECURED by patching bugs.
"I no longer think we're going to be able to just patch all the bugs," the OpenAI CEO said, warning smarter models can find "hardware level insane stuff."
He says OpenAI can't responsibly open source its best model "anytime soon," but the open source world isn't far behind: "Not super."
𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹.𝘅𝗺𝗿 – 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗴𝗲
As AI systems increasingly monitor, score, and stress every public protocol and payment rail, true control over money is disappearing. Programmable currencies, data-harvesting platforms, and algorithmic surveillance erode personal and commercial autonomy.
𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹.𝘅𝗺𝗿 pairs the word “control” with Monero’s private, untraceable cash: confidential transactions that cannot be frozen, analyzed, or dictated by external systems. Whether for personal sovereignty, business settlements, or AI-agent payments, Monero restores the control that public ledgers surrender.

Digital twins create high-value, real-time replicas of factories, products, patients, infrastructure, and entire processes—generating sensitive operational and personal data that competitors, insurers, or AI systems increasingly want to probe. As AI stress on protocols grows, every public transaction risks leaking competitive intelligence, health details, or asset performance.
𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻.𝘅𝗺𝗿 pairs the digital-twin future with Monero’s private money: confidential settlements for data access, licensing, updates, or fractional ownership stay invisible and untraceable.
Own the domain that secures the twin economy.

𝗸𝗶.𝘅𝗺𝗿 – 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆
In a world of rising AI-driven surveillance, protocol stress, and data scraping, financial privacy is no longer optional.
𝗸𝗶.𝘅𝗺𝗿 fuses German Künstliche Intelligenz (AI) with Monero’s untraceable digital cash. While AI probes every public chain and protocol, Monero remains private by design—fungible, confidential, and resistant to algorithmic tracking.
Claim the domain that positions you at the exact intersection of intelligence and true financial freedom.

A few years ago, I realized that the biggest problem with Monero isn’t that “criminals” will use it and can’t be tracked, but that the worst people in the government/intelligence apparatus would use it and can’t be tracked.
In fact, it’s far more likely that Monero empowers the worst people on earth (Epstein class and unthinkable black ops) than it does to help the average person meaningfully route around state power and corruption.
This is some proof of it happening in real life…

Why I’m very bullish on .xmr 🧵👇
My conviction starts with a simple idea: private money should be easy to use.
Monero gives us financial privacy by default. OpenAlias makes payments easier by letting a compatible wallet translate a readable domain name into a Monero address.
Bring those together with a potential .xmr DNS extension, and the opportunity becomes much bigger than websites for Monero projects.
If .xmr completes the ICANN process and enters the DNS root, owners could configure OpenAlias records on their domains. Someone could then enter a name like alice.xmr into an OpenAlias-compatible wallet, resolve the address, and send XMR.
The payment lookup could use ordinary DNS infrastructure, without needing Polygon smart contracts or Unstoppable’s resolution API.
That matters.
A .xmr domain could become a personal payment identity: something you put in your bio, share with customers, use for freelance work, or publish for donations.
You wouldn’t need to launch a startup or build an entire website to give the name a purpose. Simply using it to receive payments could make it useful.
OpenAlias already works with other DNS extensions. What excites me about .xmr is the clear connection to Monero: a name that immediately tells people which monetary ecosystem you belong to.
That’s why I own openalias.xmr. It captures a use case I believe deserves much more attention.
My bigger conviction is in Monero itself.
For everyday digital cash, I consider Monero better suited than Bitcoin because financial privacy is built into the system. Bitcoin’s base-layer transactions are public. I believe ordinary people will increasingly value the ability to transact without publishing their financial activity.
My bold long-term prediction? Monero will become more popular for everyday payments and eventually flip Bitcoin in market value.
That is my conviction, not a guaranteed outcome. It depends on adoption, usability, access, and people choosing privacy.
The same applies to .xmr: DNS approval is still conditional, and useful payment identities require proper configuration and compatible wallets.
But the possibility is powerful:
Private digital cash.
Readable payment names.
An identity people can remember.
That’s the future I’m bullish on. 🔐

imagine one .xmr name for your website, email, Monero payments, and apps.
If .xmr gains ICANN approval and enters DNS, that becomes possible with the right setup.
That’s why I’m bullish: a useful everyday identity. 🔐
