In 2020, he killed a man in self-defense after soliciting him.
He just started a job in City Council.
Wow Philly. 🤦

The pattern is unmistakable.
Every time the government tries to spend to make something more affordable, it just raises the cost.
Look at this chart every time a socialist promises they will spend their way out of our affordability crisis.

The Washington Post has a new article exploring whether simply taxing the rich can fund as much spending as many Democrats claim (it cannot) - and it heavily features my latest report on the topic.

It’s remarkable how much smaller the internet feels now than it did 15 years ago. We all use just a few apps and those apps are governed by algorithms that put you in increasingly narrow and specified content silos. Internet used to be a vast and unpredictable place. No more.

Philadelphia Parking Authority pulled in $332 million in fiscal year 2024. On-street enforcement alone brought in $156 million. Tickets accounted for $94 million of that — roughly 60 percent. Boot and tow fees stack on top of the original ticket. The agency is not elected. The mayor appoints the board. City Council approves the budget every year. A big share of the money does go back to the city and schools, but the machine that generates the fines keeps growing while the people getting hit hardest are the ones who can least afford the spiral. Real accountability means the people who created and keep funding this system answer for how it actually works, not just the driver who got the ticket.

Gavin Newsom says “the system’s broken” and we need to “completely reimagine” it. His answer? Democratic socialism. That’s not bold change. It’s the same old promise of free stuff, and the price is always your liberty.
A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to control everything. America isn’t broken. Washington is. The fix is following the Constitution.

Families are already dealing with high prices. The last thing they need is more government spending, which is exactly what socialist-backed candidates want. I believe that history shows where that road leads: higher taxes, less opportunity, and economic decline.
Real reform comes from free markets, limited government, and individual liberty.

Just a reminder that when the state’s response to criminal behavior is deemed inadequate by the community, the community will take justice into its own hands. If the city thought a decarceral approach is what this community wants, the city was very wrong.

Because of the spark that, StarTrek:TOS, lit in me for the fascination of spaceflight and technology, I went on to have a tiny part in developing new technology for the Space Shuttle LPS (Launch Processing System), specifically the CCMS hardware, as a young 19yr old working for NASA/Dept of Defense, after DoD recruited me out of high school to work as an engineering development technician.
I will forever be grateful for all of you in the Star Trek world for the career path I set out on as a young child back in the 1960's...after flying through space with you!

Republicans bragging about no tax on tips, overtime, or Social Security must also accept responsibility for higher inflation, as that was the trade-off. Because government spending actually rose as those tax cuts were enacted, the lost revenue means the tax cuts are paid for through higher inflation. So workers get to keep more of the money they earn, but its purchasing power is reduced by the higher prices that are a direct consequence of the tax cuts.
