It makes me feel incredibly proud knowing my son, Justin, is enjoying serving our country in the U.S. Army. I'm happy to share that PFC Justin Davis completed Air Assault School alongside other dedicated soldiers.
Justin said that he really loved rappelling from a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, and he has earned his U.S. Army Air Assault Badge. I'm honored to thank all these soldiers who have worked extremely hard, been disciplined, and committed to serving our country.
Hooah! 🇺🇸
We must always put people first and work to deliver results for our communities, above the political fighting in Washington, D.C.
I am glad to see that Builders Bloc has rated me #1 on their Builders Index for working across the aisle and remaining results-focused.
They are also encouraging all NC-01 “independent” voters to support our campaign, and I am extremely grateful.

Thank you to Swansboro, Newport, and Bayboro supporters for such high energy.
Every conversation I have had has shown me how much energy we have. We will continue to build on this energy, and we will not stop. Vote early!
One of the most inspiring things I have seen in the first couple of days of early voting is how many young people are coming to the polls with their parents.
As our children watch us, they will learn that each individual's vote is important and that, as a member of a community, there is pride and responsibility. To be able to witness the next generation experience this firsthand is truly heartwarming.
Nash County, I enjoyed seeing you at the polls!
It was wonderful to meet voters, hear what was on their minds, and have some real conversations about the future of our communities. Thank you to each of you who took a moment to talk and let me know what matters most to you. Your voice matters.
Early voting has begun, so take the time to go vote!
Early voting has started!
I stopped by early voting sites in Craven and Carteret counties to experience firsthand the excitement and passion of early voters. Let your voice be heard by casting your vote this election. The more people who participate in elections, the stronger our communities become. Go out to vote!
Over the past 24 years, you've been my partner, my top cheerleader, and one of God's biggest blessings in my life.
On the day of our wedding anniversary, I’m thinking about how the best things in life can't be measured by how long they've lasted, but by the love we've shared, the memories we've made together, and the family we're so fortunate to have.
Happy Anniversary, Yuvonka Shawnte' Batts Davis!
Yuvonka Shawnte' Batts Davis, 50 looks beautiful on you, and your greatest beauty has always been the love you share and the heart you bring to our family, GC Pre-K, and the community.
Happy birthday!
The Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe has passed down its heritage, culture, and traditions through many generations. Showing up at a recent forum and reaffirming my support for advancing federal recognition legislation was an honor.
Edenton has been celebrating its peanut festival for 51 years. It was wonderful to see such deep community pride while celebrating our farmers and agricultural heritage.
The North Carolina Seafood Festival showed us how vital our coastal heritage is to eastern North Carolina. For 40 years, the festival has brought people from across the region to celebrate a valued tradition.
The crowd applauded loudly when Thomas and Monica Smith of Miss Gina's Fresh Shrimp were announced and presented with the 2026 Outstanding Commercial Fishing Family award. I'm glad to join in congratulating Thomas and Monica. Participants were clearly grateful for all they had done to stand up for those who depend on the water to earn a living.
Faith has always been part of my life since my upbringing.
I remember helping my grandmother put up flowers for Sunday morning worship service and the peppermint candy between hymns. Our church is where I learned Bible verses, attended Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. It’s where I often got my brand-new Easter suits dirty looking for eggs, learned the Apostles’ Creed and about the fruit of the Spirit, and was baptized. It’s also where I declared Jesus as my Savior, and this foundation still guides me today.
Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
There’s nothing quite like being under the stadium night lights, watching your child do what they love.
Had a great time watching my son, Kyler, play football! Seeing his hard work, dedication, and teamwork out on that field is one of my absolute favorite things. However, the moment I’ll remember most came after the game, when Kyler told me how much he appreciated me being there. That meant more than I can put into words.
Sometimes, our kids don’t need us to say much. They just need to look up between plays and know we’re there. Go Rams!
There's something special about Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium for a home opener with Pirate Nation rallying behind our team. The pride of eastern North Carolina was on full display.
Let’s keep fighting and believing. We are Pirates!
The ultimate gym class surprise!
Watch the moment PFC Justin Davis walked into his younger brother Kyler’s gym class after months away. Kyler’s reaction says it all, he drops the weight, and officially earns the title of cool younger brother!
Justin’s call to duty may take him away from home, but no amount of time or distance can break the bond between them.
Welcome home, Justin! We are so incredibly proud of you, and there’s nothing better than having you back home.
Eastern North Carolinians are struggling with the everyday costs of healthcare, gas, groceries, and housing, while my opponent treats a congressional election as an opportunity to cash in. The news that my opponent was caught, fined, and slapped with a three-year ban for trading on insider information is a disqualifying breach of public trust.

Our campaign is a coalition of Democrats, Republicans, and independents who put eastern North Carolina first, not themselves.
NEW: Kalshi says @lauriebuckhout, the Republican nominee in #NC01, improperly traded on her own campaign, violating platform rules, and is being fined $2,500 and suspended for 3 years. (This is a Dem-held seat that is now 'lean GOP' after redistricting.)
Neighbors helping neighbors. That’s more than a phrase in eastern North Carolina. It’s who we are.
It’s the farmer who sponsors a Little League baseball team, the young person who checks on her elderly neighbor, and the veteran who continues to serve his community long after taking off his uniform. It’s our firefighters responding to calls around the clock to save lives, neighbors rallying together when someone needs a helping hand, and friends sitting around the table finding ways to make our community stronger.
Our small towns, family farms, and coastal communities are built on people grounded in faith, family, hard work, and a commitment to one another. I’m a proud native of eastern North Carolina and grateful for the families who make it our home.
Our heritage is worth protecting. Our families are worth fighting for. Our future is worth building together.
With faith in God, courage in our hearts, and a willingness to serve, we can meet any challenge when we stand together. No political label can divide us. That's what it means to put eastern North Carolina first!
Well...I’m 55 today!
I woke up this morning wondering what happened to my VCR, cassette tapes, and brick phone. Somehow, they disappeared, and 55 years did too.
Looking back, I think most about family, friends, faith, and community. I’m blessed beyond measure and grateful for another day, for every person who has been part of my life, and for every opportunity to serve others along the way. And I’m just getting started!
