I have a very sore arse. This evening my black cab did an emergency stop. I was propelled onto the floor very suddenly and landed on my arse. Heavily. I suspect tomorrow it’s going to hurt even more.

Yesterday, Lula ostensibly became the first person since Brazil's return to democracy to win a fourth term in office. This is just three weeks after the country elected its most right wing legislature ever. It was the first time a candidate has lost the first round and gone on to win the presidency, and the first time that turnout in the second round has exceeded turnout in the first. Also unprecedented was the Supreme Court's last minute extension of voting hours. That decision was made by key Lula ally Alexandre de Moraes, who has now seized the passport of Lula's opponent after imprisoning his predecessor. British media's response to all of this? Bovine silence. Brazil is a famously corrupt country. Honesty should not be the expectation. It may be that Lula's victory was legitimate: it is certainly not obvious that it was. How will we know if nobody asks the questions? Remember this disinterest the next time that you hear a British journalist tell you about the importance of their role in 'protecting democracy' and 'speaking truth to power'. They have zero interest in either objective, and we should take zero notice of their words.
One day after Lula was declared the winner of Brazil's elections, his opponent -- Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro -- just had had his passport seized by the Federal Police. Theose police were sent by notorious tyrant Judge Alexandre de Moraes. What a lovely democratic image.

Today I’m wearing my keffiyeh jacket to show my solidarity with Gaza. Hand-finished in cashmere-and-silk bouclé, £3,250.

Honestly what a spaz. "Once you get comfortable with Shakespeare's language." You mean conversational English? Dickhead
God I hate Kenneth Branaugh. Once you get comfortable with Shakespeare's language, you see what a hack this guy is.

America could destroy UK by allowing high earners like me to move there BTW Something for John Healey to bear in mind while he's writing the Budget this week

"Young Sheldon" takes place entirely within the head of adult Sheldon
Annie Potts says that Jim Parsons returning as Sheldon in the ‘YOUNG SHELDON’ finale broke her heart. “I thought the show could have ended [with young Sheldon] and not to the dreaded scene with Jim & Mayim as Sheldon & Amy revealing he was unchanged and unrepentant. That gave me a stomach ache. It was like, ‘Who crashed our party?! Who invited you?'” (via: collider.com/young-sheldon-f…)

Retarded post. Tories haven't budged in the polls, it's all Labour v Reform
As I predicted, Reform couldn't professionalise, peaked too soon, and once it's polling 3rd for long enough, a lot of Conservative-Reform switchers are going to want to come back and back the stronger horse, leading to a death spiral for Reform.

Seeing lots of this lately. It’s very clear that Reform is in terminal decline and has become completely indefensible for anyone with an ounce of self-respect. So happy to see those who had doubts jumping on board. Restore is going from strength to strength.

🚨 Update: the Boriswavers have burned our beautiful Austrian themed bar
I’m in a beautiful Austrian themed bar in London, owned by a man whose parents fled from fled from the Nazis. The atmosphere is so joyful, with Brits, Europeans and Americans. Everyone is singing happy songs. As I think of France burning, all I can think is how long will this joy last? I feel as though we are celebrating the end of days without realising it.

Find it rather funny that Age of Empires II, one of the most-played games on Steam, is actually thirty years old and uses sprites
