I completely agree. Law and order (policing) depends on a cop being able to trust that another cop will keep order in his neighborhood while he goes out and maintains order in your neighborhood. Once that understanding breaks down, it's over. The cops stay home.
I’ve told the local and county LEOs here to be able to self sustain for 2 weeks as an initial goal, then work towards 90 days. It could go longer than that, but I wanted to give them attainable goals. About half received this positively. The reality is that in a long term protracted situation LEO is going to mostly stay home and handle their own shit in rural America; the infrastructure to support emergency services won’t be available.

That is the entire premise of my EMP books: police perform a valuable service in tamping down the stupidest of the shitheads in the world, allowing the average sheep to get by (for the most part) unmolested. Nobody has to be on guard 24/7. The normies can live in code white.

Let's talk about a country that lost a Revolution: Rhodesia. No, they didn't line up white people and shoot them, but Zimbabwe did do that the blacks who "lost" during Mugabe's 1980s genocide, the Gukurahundi. The minority Ndebele tribe and supporter's of Mugabe's rival Joshua Nkomo's ZAPU party were targeted. 20,000 or more civilians were killed as the North Korean-trained Fifth Brigade carried out mass killings, torture, disappearances, and collective punishment. Whites in post-revolutionary Zimbabwe faced a different form of retaliation, primarily through political marginalization, intimidation, violence, and eventually large-scale property confiscation. During the 1990s and dramatically after 2000, the government accelerated land seizures. White-owned commercial farms were occupied and confiscated, often accompanied by intimidation, assaults, and occasionally murder. Farmworkers, most of whom were black Zimbabweans, also suffered displacement and violence. Losing a revolution does not necessarily mean immediate extermination or expulsion. Defeated populations may initially be accommodated, only to lose their political influence later on, giving way to systematic discrimination, confiscation of property, forced displacement, imprisonment, and eventually mass murder. History provides examples of persecution escalating into genocide. In Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge executed members of the defeated government before expanding their persecution to intellectuals, religious communities, ethnic minorities, and eventually their own supporters. In Rwanda, decades of ethnic discrimination, political violence, and civil conflict culminated in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. In the Ottoman Empire, Armenians were increasingly portrayed as disloyal enemies before being subjected to mass deportation, dispossession, and extermination in 1915.
Maybe a bit too spicy of a take for most people, but if you're even slightly to the right politically of Bush the commies are gonna line you up against the wall too, the wall might just be covered in the blood of men who had views that actually stood a chance at stopping them. 1/

This is why my buddy created his own outlaw league to get away from that shit.
I've now met several guys who got into USPSA/IDPA to become better shooters for preparedness and ended up becoming more normie. Selling their plate carriers and NVG for pistol cal carbines and comp belts, scoffing at infantry training and rucking. Wtf is this trend?

Sounds like they’re preparing for what I warned you about - there are likely not only hit squads near every major base ready to take out substations, but containers full of drones and weapons.

Honestly, a damn good idea given what the first 24-48 hours of a near peer war will look like. It won’t be nukes- it will be cyberattacks aimed at logistics and comms that will absolutely tear the shit out of US infrastructure. Our military needs to be prepared to go low tech in a hurry.

I have managed to use my recent promotion to place into our department policy that each officer must be capable of self sustaining themselves for 24 hours ( ie whatever you have in your duty bag and car) SWAT members have to be completely self sufficient ( food, batteries, ammo, water) for 3 days. Something feels off and I don’t think it’s going to be a go home at the end of one shift kind of thing. @DonShift3 would be pleased.

Spoiler alert: we are. These people will not go down easily. And they will need to do everything possible to make people feel uneasy and to slow Trump’s economic turnaround. And Americans are going to discover just how big the enemy within really is.
Feels like we're in a weird lull just before all hell is threatening to break loose.

I was hiking a while back and some guy on a boat saw me on a promontory and pulled out his binoculars for a better look. It struck me that if this was SHTF/war, it could just as easily be a drone. And if I was a threat, why not arm that recon drone to do two-for one duty?
