the beauty of capitalism is that instead of humanity's most talented leaders getting rich and famous for leading armies to kill a lot of people, they get rich and famous for leading companies to get rockets into space and save humanity from eventual extinction on earth

Over the last decade, Florida has been hit by NINE hurricanes, including SIX major hurricanes (category 3–5). All majors and all but one of the eight total hurricanes were Gulf Coast landfalls. However, Florida was hit by 13 hurricanes between 1944 and 1953, six of which were majors as well. Between 1945 and 1950, the Atlantic side between Delray and Miami was hit by FOUR category four hurricanes. We have yet to see another streak like that. And like the recent ten-year period, eight hurricanes struck the Gulf Coast during 1944–53, but only two were major. While the Gulf Coast of Florida has never been hit by six many majors in a ten-year period before (that we know of), Florida itself has. Claims that Florida has been in uncharted territory lately depend on whether you look at one particular subset of hurricane landfalls or the whole picture. Regardless of how you try to square it, there was more hurricane activity around Florida the 1940s and early 1950s than in recent years, but the two periods are comparable.

Isaias is the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. It is also the latest first Atlantic hurricane formation on record since 1851 (excluding 1907 and 1914, which, as far as we know, had none). It’s an ordinary category three. Nothing is unprecedented about the size or intensity of the storm. But NPR blames it on “climate change” anyways. Why? Because their so-called “journalists” are both intellectually and morally bankrupt charlatans who don’t bother to do any actual research.
According to NPR, there have never been category three hurricanes before.

Three fundamental integrals stand out for their elegant closed forms despite spanning infinite domains. - The Gaussian ∫_{-∞}^{∞} e^{-x²} dx equals √π. - The Lorentzian ∫_{-∞}^{∞} 1/(x² + 1) dx totals π. - The sinc function ∫_{-∞}^{∞} sin(x)/x dx also equals π. These identities, established through techniques such as contour integration, link analysis across mathematics. Engineers apply the sinc integral within the sampling theorem to perfectly reconstruct continuous-time signals from discrete samples in digital communications systems.

The irony of your comment is rather amusing to me. To be clear, history has not one single recorded case of socialism/communism having ever worked. Not one! But sure, this time will totally be different, you lot are so much smarter this time, trust us! 🤣🤣🤣

Senate Democrats need to join with us to get @DHSgov funded, so we can pay hardworking Americans from TSA to CISA, the folks who work to keep our nation safe. If Democrats want to continue to debate @ICEgov reforms, we can do that, but at the very least, join with us in passing a Continuing Resolution so @TSA gets paid while we do it. Let’s fund DHS and move on from this unnecessary shutdown. We owe it to the hardworking Americans at the Department of Homeland Security.

In January and again just last week, @HouseGOP passed legislation to give DHS the funding it needs to carry out its critical mission. Democrats have chosen a dangerous path by refusing to help pass it in the Senate. They must put the safety of Americans above politics. “It’s time to put the politics aside, support the men and women who protect our nation, prioritize the safety of the American people, and that means ending this shutdown.” - @RepMackenzie

The responsibility of the Mayor of NYC is to ensure the safety of every New Yorker. Zohran Mandamni should be urging Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer to get back to Washington to fund DHS so they can coordinate with agencies like the NYPD. It’s time to put politics aside and put the safety of the American people first.

In 2024, the FBI came to my front door to tell me the Iranian regime had put a hit on my life — anytime, anywhere. This week, the man who accepted those orders, on American soil, was sentenced to life in prison in a New York court. Anyone who claims the Iranian regime isn’t a danger to America is ignoring how far its tentacles spread and is willfully ignorant about how far it will go to threaten Americans even in our own country.
