Another heartbreaking part of Amy Acton’s story is she said that she tried to protect her brother from their step father so that he didn’t sexually abuse him as well. She was 12 years old being raped by that monster while simultaneously doing everything she could to protect her brother from being abuse too. Their mother saw all of this happen and did nothing to stop it. I can’t even imagine the heartbreak and betrayal they must have felt. Parents are supposed to protect their children. Amy Acton’s mother fed her to the wolves and instead of trying to right her wrongs she remained married to the man who abused her daughter and son. Then agreed to participate in a campaign ad she knew was targeted towards her daughter and would hurt her. That is not a parent. It is absolutely disgusting and enraging to see republicans defending this ad and taking the mother’s side. These are the same people who say they want to protect the children. Here you have a woman saying she was raped when she was a child and the response is that she’s a liar. I hope her mother suffers for the rest of her miserable life and rots with her pedophile husband. I hope Vivek is shamed for this for the rest of his career. Every Republican claiming to care about children yet supports this ad is a disgrace. These scariest part is many of these people have children of their own, including Vivek.
