Biased polling actually hurts the chances of the one receiving the bias. They cause edge voters to stay home because they think "it's in the bag."
Meanwhile the trailing party thinks they need to turn out in big numberd to beat the odds.

So here we have this former Russian ambassador explaining how the Donbass war began.
There was a coup d’état in Kyiv in 2014, financed by the US.
The new installed regime banned the Russian language, and the population of Crimea voted in a referendum for their independence against the ban on their native language.
Kyiv then intervened militarily in Donbass in 2014, which triggered the war.
The Minsk agreements then followed. Russia finally intervened in 2022 because there was no other solution to protect its compatriots in Donbass, who had been attacked for 8 years.
