Why does a great game need to have elimination stakes? Bama Georgia was great. Texas Ohio state was great. Oregon Ohio state in 2024 was great. None of them had elimination stakes
we donāt need every game all year to be an elimination game or have bigger ramifications. Letās just watch great football games all year because they are great football games. Just like we always have
I never once turned on a game on a Saturday in October because someone was going to be eliminated. Not in 1990, not in the BCS era, not in the CFP4 era, and not now. I turned on that game because it was a game featuring great teams that I couldnāt wait to watch
We are replacing 4 neutral site CVGs and 6 neutral site bowl games with 12 extra on campus playoff games.
Thatās a big win to me
Is this new system perfect? No. There are things I would change. But the current system isnāt perfect either. Nor was the one before or the one before that or the ones before that. There has never been a perfect system in CFB
Iām just excited we are giving more fanbases more reasons to stay engaged and we are getting more quality on campus football games going forward.

Replying to @DouglasTS
@DouglasTS @Qb11Sd when considering a new OC, why not consider identity as the first prerequisite? Seems like a heavy run scheme is the king of CF considering bad OL and QB play. It feels like the piece weāve been missing the past couple years.
You get exactly what you want and donāt throw it

Flea flicker... When the safety drives down you have to throw the post. It's wide open. Maybe he can't make this throw? I don't know. Should have been a TD

*SMALL* Glass Half Full Opinion
If Dante doesnāt get hurt, he papers over a broken offense staff/system. We go 10-2, lose in playoffs and 2027 is doomed. We may even not learn Raiola isnāt the guy.
Once we decided to promote Drew, roll with this offensive staff, and OL, we never could win a title. Thatās brutal, but the reality.
Now, 2027 slate is clean. New OC, new offensive staff and new QB thatās not on campus now. Nail that stuff, and weāre back in business.
A small silver lining I suppose š¦

Oregon is set to part ways with offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer, sources tell @CBSSports

Last thing before bed, we blame Drew a lot and itās fair, but everyone keeps saying we shouldāve went to the portal for O-line. The reality is if Alique Terry was good at development we shouldnāt need the portal! His ālaw firmā has had transfer talent that made him look good.

DUCKS WINā¼ļø
No. 10 Oregon toughs out a four-set road win at Ohio State (24-26, 25-23, 25-19, 26-24), saved a pair of set points to avoid going to a fifth frame.
Next š Friday vs Maryland (6 p.m., B1G+) to start a four-match home stand.

I agree with this, because at this point at 4-3 itās about messaging just as much as results.
Because what kind of message are sending to your team continuously trotting out a lame duck OC.

A couple simple demands @oregonfootball:
No more trips to Japan
No more coaches going on Barstool
No more Ducks vs Them
No more halftime speech footage
No more randomly going for 2
No more under qualified play callers
Sincerely,
Sane Oregon fans
Dan has to relieve Drew of his duties tomorrow.
This is generationaally bad OCāing. You have to send a message right now to your team, fans, boosters, recruits, and everyone
Now that Oregon is playing for consolation prizes, maybe I can enjoy this wild and wacky season of CFB
UCF gets absolutely screwed by a picked up flag. Should have been 15 yards and another chance to kick
Doug Scott retweeted
Oregon roster is supposed to be good enough to withstand a QB injury especially against fucking Illinois so please don't use that excuse. They are a full blown failure
The ONLY possible good that can come out of this disaster of a season is that we donāt retain the inept coaches that caused it
Doug Scott retweeted
The promotion of Drew mehringer is going to set our program back years. With recruiting and roster turnover, who fucking knows the trickle down effect of this. I really hope Dan just rips the fucking bandaid off, complete waste of a season. I feel so bad for all the seniors
Doug Scott retweeted
I feel bad for the players.
This has to be a growth opportunity and learning season for Dan Lanning.
Letās hire some veteran coaches, please.
