When misogyny in art gets discussed on my timeline there's a lot of art accounts that get mad at the topic and say it isn't/shouldn't be treated as serious, and then i go check their accs and all their women characters look like this, completly unironically too

I also think it's a matter of bias. Artists are more likely to express what they find attractive in art be it intentional or not. A straight man will draw attractive women but less attractive men, a gay man other men attractive but women less attractive and so on so forth.

Not to say I think mysogyny doesn't exist in art but I just think there's a lot of nuance to be found in the discussion and art itself

Indie cartoons are so greedy they want to build an entire world, make multiple of character arcs, have a compelling plot and send a meaningful massage all in 8 episode with 10 min length. They feel like passion project with its endgoal that it exists and nothing else
