The AEA's annual conference is at the @HiltonSFUnionSq, where @UniteHereL2 workers are on strike.
The AEA should not do business with hotels where workers are striking.
The AEA should not make attendees cross the picket line.

NEW: an ideological divide is emerging between young men and women in many countries around the world.
I think this one of the most important social trends unfolding today, and provides the answer to several puzzles.
@VerizonSupport I've been on chat for 90 minutes trying to figure out why my data usage numbers are different from the usage that @Verizon is claiming.
Both customer service reps so far left the chat without resolving anything.
No acknowledgement by @VerizonSupport that anything seems off -- and the only 'option' they have to offer is to change plans.
Oh, and they removed the teacher discount that I had with no notice.
