Jamaica, meet your next set of Challengers for the Kingston Slam when @GrandSlamTrack debuts on April 4th-6th... ๐Ÿ˜ค As a refresher: Four Challengers will occupy four spots in each Slamโ€™s race groupings against four Racers, who are contractually signed to the leagueโ€™s four meets. Challengers are paid an appearance fee and can compete for the full prize money. Challenger spots are determined by recent performances, rivalries and what makes for compelling matchups. ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐™€๐™ข๐™ข๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ช๐™š๐™ก ๐™’๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ฎ๐™ž (๐™ˆ๐™š๐™ฃโ€™๐™จ ๐™Ž๐™๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฉ ๐˜ฟ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š) ๐Ÿฅ‡ 800m Olympic champion, ๐Ÿฅˆ 2023 World silver medalist โฑ๏ธ800m PB: 1:41.11, 1500m PB: 3:43.19 ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐˜ฝ๐™ง๐™ฎ๐™˜๐™š ๐™ƒ๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ก (๐™ˆ๐™š๐™ฃโ€™๐™จ ๐™Ž๐™๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฉ ๐˜ฟ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š) 2x U.S. Olympian, American record holder โฑ๏ธ800m PB: 1:41.67, 1500m PB: 3:42.62 ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐™…๐™–๐™˜๐™ž๐™ค๐™ช๐™จ ๐™Ž๐™š๐™–๐™ง๐™จ (๐™’๐™ค๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃโ€™๐™จ ๐™Ž๐™๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฉ ๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™จ) โฑ๏ธ 100m PB: 10.77, 200m PB: 22.45 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง ๐˜ฟ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™– ๐˜ผ๐™จ๐™๐™š๐™ง-๐™Ž๐™ข๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ (๐™’๐™ค๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃโ€™๐™จ ๐™‡๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™จ) 3x Olympic medalist, 6x World Championship medalist, 6x European champion โฑ๏ธ 200m PB: 21.88, 400m PB: 52.31 ๐Ÿ’ป We put together a full scouting report on these Challengers and how theyโ€™ve previously fared against Racers, which you can now read here: citiusmag.com/articles/wanyoโ€ฆ

Fans watching Quincy Hallโ€™s epic comeback to win gold in a close battle down the homestretch. None of them probably know what his time was nor do they care! Head to head competition is what stirs excitement and emotion. Not times and records.
Replying to @MJGold
We had a watch party at our local junior college he attended before he went to South Carolina. We were pretty excited for him too!

I see track athletes complaining wanting a bigger platform. Others complaining of wanting more money. @GrandSlamTrack will be broadcast on @peacock @TheCW & @NBCSports with prize money of 1st=$100K & 8th=$10K. Whoโ€™s not complaining? Our 48 Grand Slam Track Racers!

Track is one of the most competitive sports. I fear that and the value of winning are getting lost. Winning in track is really hard, and means a lot to win. Records and world leads are great too, but theyโ€™re secondary to winning. Except world and sometimes national records.

Pro tip for college athletes turning pro - Injury Prevention. 5 tips below๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ 1. Dynamic stretching before and static stretching after is important. Make sure to have a good warm up and cool down routines. 2. Use the correct shoes. Walk barefoot a lot that helps reduce bunions as well. I buy toe separators to help with mine. Your feet affects your whole body. Work ground up to reduces imbalance and posture problems. 3. Stay hydrated. When youโ€™re dehydrated your body doesnโ€™t get much electrolytes which can cause your muscles them to cramp or spasm. 4. Prioritize Recovery. See a chiropractor, physio, massage therapist regularly to help recovery. Other ways that can help speed up recovery - sauna, cold tub or contrast bath, red light therapy, hyperbaric chamber, PEMF therapy, dry needling. 5. Find a good trainer that assesses your body first and works on a program thatโ€™s specific to you. Unilateral work outs help imbalances. 6. Listen to your body. Less is more. Do not ignore pain or discomfort that may indicate an injury during practice. That last rep after feeling something might lead to an injury.
