I've scouted the NFL Draft since 2016. Today I'm opening up the desk I built to do the job: Teamistry Football. Every club's roster, depth chart, injury log and scheme notes, plus recruiting, the portal and a 2027 board. NFL, college, CFL, UFL. One desk. 🧵

Watching JJ McCarthy the last 3 quarters in New York makes you wonder what in the actual hell was Kevin O’Connell doing with this guy?

Schematics mean even more this year in college football. Who’s doing things best? There are no quarterbacks right now (with the exception of maybe Darian Mensah) who is truly a game changer. Look at why Texas Tech is struggling today. Look what has Indiana going to overtime with Michigan tied at 6.

Amare Ferrell reminds me a LOT of Xavier McKinney

This is most likely an attempt to drum up more interest. Get bigger schools to offer more money and try and leverage it into a bidding war. This is a new approach to an old tactic.
Whoever is representing Jesse Legree may have cost this young man A LOT of money. A true freshman leading the nation with 1,040 receiving yards has tremendous market value. At minimum, explore your options and understand your worth before committing. Loyalty is great, but potentially passing up generational money without testing your value is bad business. #4thAndFacts

Yeah I’ll believe it when I see it.

Offers measure attention, not ability. A high school rating built on offers tells you who got noticed first. Better questions: what does he do on tape, and what system does he fit? Every college team page has a scheme desk to start with. teamistry.grok.me/college/te…
The more I look at the top high school prospects for next year, the more I realize that something is terribly wrong in the system

The system has been broken for a while. Evaluations have gotten lazy lately.

Watching Tyler Huntley and Jalon Daniels run around and play this afternoon has brought on a profound thought to my head. There will always be a place in the NFL for those Josh Johnson-type players. Dude really changed backup QB’s for the better.

Kevin Stefanski has Bijan Robinson averaging 12.8 yards a carry today and he’s got 4 carries in the first half. You have arguably the best running back in the game and… you’re not giving him the ball.

Great question. I’m under the opinion that it’s easy to get caught up in traits and see the potential a guy has if he puts a few other things together. Tools/traits almost always translate. However, it’s becoming more exceedingly rare to find players who are more willing to do the work to refine their games in this day and age and not lean on the traits they possess. Have to find the balance between traits and technique, and it’s a very fine line when a person’s drive and mentality come into play.

Always wondered why so many scouts miss on players and completely whiff on their evals. Obviously it’s not easy to scout but so many plays are overhyped. Why is that

This is the right thing for Marvin Harrison Jr. Let him settle into Houston. As long as Nico Collins stays healthy, he will produce there. #HOUvsJAX

Dude will take a seven figure deal next year to a blue blood school. Book it.

Note: Faizon Brandon isn’t benched, he’s still recovering after being hurt. The only point that this is showing is that the problem is evaluating in college. The high school rating systems are based entirely on offers. Who has the most attention? On3/Rivals, 247 Sports, your entire system needs to be re-evaluated. If we Twitter scouts could swing it and organize, I’ll bet we could put something together that would rival (pun intended) those sites and give them a run for their money.
The Past 6 #1 High School QBs have been rough: 2026: Faizon Brandon = BENCHED 2025: Bryce Underwood = BENCHED 2024: DJ Lagway = Transferred 2023: Arch Manning = Arch Manning 2022: Drew Allar = 3rd Round Pick 2021: Quinn Ewers = 7th Round Pick

Fehoko woke up yesterday and chose violence 😂 I love it
I say this with seriousness. If Arch Manning gets drafted anywhere in the first 5 rounds the NFL is a nepo baby system. Arch Manning is a bad football player can we start being real?

Halfway through the season and… idk what to think anymore. Gonna wait 6 games lol
Preseason NFL Draft QB Rankings Note: I know some of you will call me a contrarian. I don’t care. First Round prospects: 1) Dante Moore, Oregon - Ice cold blood in his veins, good athlete, good improviser, protects himself. Has reinvented his game since high school and developed very well. 2) Arch Manning, Texas - Lots of upside, want to see the flashes of timing and anticipation show up more consistently. Has good tools, very solid athlete. Day Two prospects: 3) LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina - Toolsy athlete who had a bit of a drop off year from 2024 to 2025. Had the size and arm talent to be special, needs to more consistently process and deliver with his passing game. 4) Josh Hoover, Indiana - I like the gritty, tough, physical play style that Josh Hoover plays with. Had some impressive moments at TCU. Want to see that become a lot more consistent at Indiana this year. Has a good chance to. 5) Julian Sayin, Ohio State - Sayin isn’t the most particularly gifted with his tools but he has been a smart processor and accurate at Ohio State. The offense he’s run limits my inclinations to list him higher. I’m not sold on everything he has yet. 6) Sam Leavitt, LSU - I don’t think I’m sold on Leavitt being this high of a prospect yet, but the tools are there. He can spin the ball, he plays with a chip. If he protects himself better this year and settles more into a game manager role, he can absolutely go day 2. 7) John Mateer, Oklahoma - Mateer flashes brilliance, but a lot of what he has done at Oklahoma has been with his legs on the ground. I think he’s flashed good processing and throwing accuracy, but he has struggled with consistency. I don’t really see a lot in his tools particularly either. Another guy who takes a big step this year and is firmly in day 2. Day 3 prospects 8) CJ Carr, Notre Dame - I’ve seen all of the preseason hype and I kind of think it’s insane. I don’t see the first round tools, I see very solid stuff but nothing outstanding. He’s still vastly inexperienced and isn’t a consistent ball thrower yet. 9) Rocco Becht, Penn State - Rocco has all of the makings of that gritty QB that goes day 3 with solid tools, solid athleticism, and a lot of passion and moxie. 10) Nico Iamaleava, UCLA - Still has a lot of room to fill out on his frame, needs to become more consistent. Has higher round tools but that consistency as a passer has been all over the place. 11) Byrum Brown, Auburn - a physical runner with a good build. Brown should get a chance somewhere with his raw tools. He may change positions at some point, but that’s well down the line. Somebody will give him a shot to develop. 12) Jayden Maiava, USC - Has had his moments at USC, and his struggles, but a pretty good improviser with a good arm and very solid athleticism. 13) Jaden Craig, TCU - fun watch at Harvard over the last couple of seasons, Craig is a very solid improviser with good football intelligence. While a little undersized, I could see him having a good backup career in the league. Several more on the fringe, but these guys I like l the best.

Everyone can keep calling the SEC mediocre, but why don’t we take a second to acknowledge how deep the conference is. It’s deeper than it’s been before.

Look, I’m not gawking about Jeremiah Smith because everybody else is, and those who know me and my work know I do not throw around the word “elite” loosely. But this guy is the complete package. He is a truly “elite” prospect in every sense of the word, and is the best prospect I have ever evaluated at any position. Point to a weakness in his game, I dare you. What is he not good borderline great at? He gives you effort and results as a run blocker. He’s a good route runner. Smooth off of the release. Good, high level athlete. Works the sideline well, has great body control. Wins with separation and through contact. What more can you ask for in a WR prospect?
