Decentraland. The OG of web3 metaverse.
ICO in 2017. Released in 2020, a year before Facebook changed its name to Meta. Since then, @decentraland has evolved and progressed beautifully. It has:
🟠GENESIS - one open world for anyone and everyone.
🟠WORLDS - private world for anyone who has a NAME.
🟠NAME - an ENS domain that entitles an owner to have a WORLD.
🟠LAND - an NFT that entitles an owner to own and deploy their special scene.
🟠EMOTE - unique movement to express yourself or impress others.
🟠WEARABLES - bringing digital fashion to a whole new level.
🟠VR - need i say more? And mobile too!

At the Decentraland DAO Summit in Lisbon, I had the opportunity to test the DAO-funded VR client. As a metaverse explorer, I believe that immersive technology is crucial to the progress of the metaverse. I was particularly impressed with experiencing Decentraland in VR firsthand, including its in-world voice chat, which is activated with just a click.
With the upcoming Decentraland Client 2.0 set to launch by the end of 2024, exciting developments are positioning Decentraland as one of the top and most unique metaverse platforms in Web3.
Experiencing travelling on flying vehicles across the map may soon be a reality in Virtual Reality. :)
