Thank you for always seeing me! 🧡💚🧡💚
🎬 Storytelling takes many forms, and Driadonna Roland has helped shape it across journalism, digital media and television.
A proud SJGC alumna and the school’s first Journalist of the Year, Driadonna began her career in newspapers before helping grow major digital brands including @BuzzFeed, @Complex and @revolttv. Today, she serves as a creative executive at @ComedyCentral, continuing to shape culture through bold creative leadership. 🎥✨
Her path reminds us that Women Who Tell the Story is also about evolving, leading and making space for stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

This is good gospel!
*Maturity taught me that* not every woman is a Proverbs 31 woman. And honestly, that’s okay.
*Some women are Deborahs* — called to lead, speak boldly and stand on the front lines.
*Some are Ruths* — loyal, humble and faithful even when nobody is watching.
*Some are Esthers* — positioned for influence, with courage rising when the moment calls for it.
*Some are Marys* — chosen to surrender and carry a purpose they didn’t fully understand.
*Some are Hannahs* — shaped by prayer, waiting, tears and a faith that refuses to die.
*Some are Abigails* — wise, discerning and brave enough to step in before things fall apart.
*Some are Miriams* — worshippers, leaders and women who know how to praise God after surviving battles.
*Some are Rahabs* — women with complicated pasts who prove that your beginning does not have to determine your ending.
*Some are Naomis* — women who have lost so much, yet somehow find the strength to begin again.
*Some are Lydia’s* — business-minded, resourceful women who use what they have to make room for others.
*Some are Priscillas* — women who teach, guide and build alongside others.
*Some are Mary Magdalene’s* — women whose lives were transformed by God and who carried their testimony boldly.
*And then there are Jezebels* — a reminder that influence without humility, power without accountability and manipulation can destroy everything around you.
*The Bible didn’t give us only one type of woman.*
*It gave us leaders.*
Warriors.
Mothers.
Worshippers.
Entrepreneurs.
Intercessors.
Survivors.
Women who waited.
Women who fought.
Women who failed.
Women who were restored.
And women whose lives became warnings.
*So stop expecting every woman to look* the same, love the same, lead the same or walk the same path.
*You don’t have to be another woman*. You just have to become the woman God created YOU to be. ❤️🔥🙏🏾

Today I can officially call myself an Acquisitions Editor @stripepress!
I’m looking for new projects to seed our pipeline. If you are writing or thinking about any of these, email me: [email protected]
- trust as civilizational infrastructure: what reinforces trust? what erodes it? does it have a half-life? how does its presence or absence shape economic growth, institutional resilience, and everyday life?
- parenting and the family/community ecosystems that produce smart, happy, and capable people
- branding, advertising, and how institutions cultivate soft power
- contemporary social commentary with a bite earned through obsessive observation (including essays!—who thinks they're the next Joan Didion?)
- biotech and public health, esp. from a systems-level perspective
- criticism!
As of today @stripepress officially has *two* full-time editors: myself & @_theplaza!
Eloise comes to us from Folio, where she was a literary agent and nurtured by some of the best in the business.

Unfortunately I'm a fan forever off of this
When I interned with the Lions I had to transcribe postgame interviews. This was of course the season they lost every game.
20 years later I still don't see the point of these, especially when nothing interesting is usually unearthed.
