Story time: While knocking doors in Summerlin this fall, I crossed paths with a UAW canvasser working for the other side. We stopped and had a brief, cordial exchange. He mentioned he moved literally weeks earlier to start a master’s program at UNLV. He was already out pounding the pavement for candidates and policies that would drive up costs across our university system right when local students said they need relief. Out of curiosity, I looked up his field later. Even with a master’s in hand, median pay sits around $65k, and the most successful people in his field never got a formal degree in it to begin with. Before we parted ways, I asked if he planned on sticking around Las Vegas after graduation. His answer was "No". That quick interaction stuck with me. He just got here, he’s actively working to sway Nevada’s policies, and he’s leaving the minute he gets what he wanted. It’s easy to push expensive mandates when you don't have to pay the bill. The locals who actually call Nevada home shouldn't be left holding the bag. rgj.com/story/opinion/2026/1…

Want to bring down the cost of living in Nevada? Fix the fuel problem. California’s regs raise our gas prices, and that extra cost gets added onto our groceries and store shelves. We shouldn't be paying for their rules. Let's tap into cheaper fuel and give people some breathing room.

The thing I said could happen did indeed happen. justice.gov/usao-nv/pr/two-a…
NV SOS’s memo is not really informative for Nevadans. He uses phrases like "multiple safeguards" to dismiss the DHS memo, but a look at the state's own documentation reveals a completely reactive system. When the SOS claims applications are verified against the DMV and SSA, he is describing an identity check, not an eligibility check. Because many legally present non-citizens have docs and SSNs, they pass this system perfectly. Worse, the state's own manuals show that when an application is flagged, the voter is just placed in "Active Pending" status. They can still cast a ballot by showing standard ID and a utility bill documents legal non-citizens already possess. Catching errors after the fact or waiting for a federal agency to sound the alarm isn’t a safeguard. If NV used proactive front end tools like the SAVE database instead of a honor system, we wouldn't be playing whack-a-mole. It's important to note that someone who was a legal non-citizen at time of registration may not be so in the future and their registration isn't automatically flagged by NV SOS systems.

Negative mailers are part of campaigning. Got one last night funded by a group of Dem leadership PACs. One minor issue: they cite my support for issues I don't believe in. They put [1] and [2] after the claims, and then never actually included the footnotes. If this is the level of competence we have leading the NV Leg, we can to do better. So I once again ask...

Nevada claimed all voters on the DHS list were U.S. citizens. Wrong. It did not check and instead relied on voter attestations. Now, the Nevada U.S. Attorney’s office has started charging the individuals on the list. States must comply with federal law. Allowing noncitizens to vote in federal elections is illegal and unconstitutional.

NV's US Attorney's Office just charged another non-citizen for voting in NV. Yesterday, officials charged two other aliens for voting. So much for @CiscoAguilar's claim that "there are numerous safeguards in place to prevent noncitizens ... from casting a ballot."
