Australia's Sex Discrimination Commissioner had told the Senate that breastfeeding protections should apply to men.
On Monday night, 26 October, Senator Leah Blyth put a plain question to Australia's Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Anna Cody.
Does the Commission read the Sex Discrimination Act's breastfeeding protection as covering "a biological male who identifies as a woman and induces lactation"?
Her answer: "Yes."
Dr Cody said breastfeeding "is widely defined within the Sex Discrimination Act, and it includes expressing milk as well as breastfeeding as well as induced lactation."
Senator Blyth then asked whether an employer must provide lactation breaks and breastfeeding facilities to a male who claims breastfeeding protection. Dr Cody answered: "They are subject to the same protections as anyone who is breastfeeding."

Labor, the Greens and Independents backed the bill, while the Coalition, One Nation and Rebekha Sharkie opposed it. Andrew Hastie was reportedly absent.
The legislation would expand government oversight of online platforms, raising serious concerns about censorship, political dissent and freedom of speech.

That's just inaccurate. In fact, the bill has only gotten worse:
— The sock puppet craziness is still in there. That means the censors at eSafety can run unlimited fake accounts and override social media platforms’ terms of service. It can do this with immunity from any civil lawsuit for things “done in good faith” lol. It does not require that it tell either users or platforms what it’s doing.
— The government added section 28A. That lets the eSafety Commissioner order any online service in Australia, from ISPs to app stores to AI chatbots, to give anyone she deems qualified “access to the service required” to inspect internal systems and “decision-making algorithms.” Creepy af
— The amendment some are weirdly claiming is a “retreat” in fact obliges every general service to keep lawful adult content from under-18s. Here’s the rub: no service can do that without checking everyone’s age.

Last night, our Western Star rig was backed into by another truck driven by a driver from the subcontinent. Our awesome Western Star is now no longer able to complete the mission as the cab mounts have been torn from the chassis. But we are still in the fight.
I'm not assuming malicious intent. I am assuming incompetence, which seems to be a consistent theme when it comes to many heavy vehicle drivers in Australia and the feedback I get from Australian trucking professionals.
Yes, shit happens. It is the way of the world, but come hell or high water, we will have a truck and our liveried trailer at our rally in Melbourne, Sydney, and Canberra.

When the @greens pass Labor’s censorship laws through the senate it’s just one more reminder that they are all in with @australianlabor and that both organisations are conning the Australian people to enrich themselves. If “independant”@DavidPocock follows suit, like he did when he voted through the blatantly lied about tax increase laws, add him to the list. Never forget the role the “charity”@TheAusInstitute plays too. In their own words, “We don’t reveal our major donors to protect them from scrutiny.”
The digital safety bill is an attempt to stop that type of scrutiny. They are telling us it’s to stop such heinous attacks as Helen Haines suffered. But the truth is if it had been in place, it wouldn’t have stopped the attack, but afterwards it could have stopped us from being aware that the attacker had a social media account expressing very similar views to many on the left side of politics. The Labor Government and their partners don’t want the Australian public to have all the information. They want to curate the internet. There is no doubt that the curators will slant things to make themselves the good guys.
This is not the Australia the majority of citizens want.

🚨BREAKING: The Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026 has passed in the House of Representatives by Labor, Independents and the Greens.
96 YES, 38 NO.
Voted against by Liberals, Nationals, One Nation and Rebekha Sharkie.
Andrew Hastie didn’t appear at any divisions.
This bill will force online businesses to conduct annual risk assessments, report to eSafety and face penalties for non-compliance.
It gives the government power to influence platform design features and impose age-assurance requirements.
It authorises eSafety to operate covert “sock puppet” accounts for government surveillance and information warfare.
It will classify content that “encourages or promotes hostile attitudes towards women or gender equality” as harmful, including legitimate criticism of feminism.
Public hearings are set for 9–10 November, with the inquiry report due 20 November. The bill must still pass the Senate.
