Good fact checking from Newshub - Napier locals telling the police minister that the gun shops are selling out of shotguns because the community is arming up.
Karen Rutherford contacted the Hawkes Bay gun shops and nope, not a single shotgun sold since they reopened.
This happened a year ago today - thanks Facebook memories - but it still makes me just as emotional as when it happened. Valuable lesson in humility for me. Side note, it was their day off.
