A criminal inquiry is underway after a 19-year-old Louisiana State University student posted on social media last month claiming she was raped by an LSU football player. Earlier this year, a Title IX investigation found the football player responsible for forcible rape, but he remains on campus playing for the LSU football team. In an exclusive interview, CBS News’ @Jerickaduncan spoke to the woman who's questioning the university's handling of the case.

Sly Stone wrote Everyday People and Family Affair. At 71 he was living in an RV. A jury awarded him $5 million in his royalty case against his old manager, and a judge took it back. In the video below, it is two days after the verdict. A reporter outside his RV asks what he will do with the money. "Probably get a bigger new RV," he says. Three of his songs went to No. 1. For 20 years, he said, not one royalty check arrived. In 1989 he signed with a new manager, Jerry Goldstein. His royalties went into a company they set up together, Even Street Productions, in exchange for a 50% stake. In 2010 Sly sued him for $50 million. A year later he was found living in a camper van in Los Angeles. In January 2015 a Los Angeles jury agreed the royalties had been diverted. It awarded him $5 million, $2.45 million of it from Goldstein. Asked what he would do first, Sly said he would think of his kids. Then a judge threw the verdict out. The 1989 signature was legal. He never got the $5 million. Little Richard sold Tutti Frutti for $50. Sly Stone wrote three No. 1 hits and ended up in an RV. Was Sly robbed, or did he sign it all away himself?

Interesting….. I thought there would be more people of color arrested since we are primarily blamed for welfare.

TODAY IN COURT October 15, 2026: Flynn vs City of Evanston Judge Kness said to the Evanston lawyers that "I will let the injunction stand because the United States has a better argument than you". As some of you know - this is a very important case involving the idea of "race-based" local reparations schemes that are set up by the Democratic Party and The NAARC/N'COBRA Axis continuing. I want all of these schemes to be shut down. There will be an over the phone hearing next week. The Justice Department wants more time for discovery. The judge will write an opinion in 28 days. This was held in U.S. Federal Court - Northern District.

October 16, 1859 John Brown and 21 other men attempted to raid the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry and start a slave insurrection. 10 died in the effort, 7 were captured and hanged, and only 5 escaped. Brown knew that slavery would only end with violence. He was correct.

Famed soprano Martina Arroyo has died. She was 90. With her luminous voice and ease on stage, the Harlem native broke barriers as one of the first major Black opera stars in the 1960s and 1970s. She was also familiar to the nation's TV viewers at the time as a frequent guest on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show." In 2013, she was honored by the Kennedy Center, just one of her many awards. Arroyo announced her retirement in 1989 and devoted herself to teaching.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers reportedly had a text thread competing to pull over the most Black drivers, while using racial slurs in discussions about force against Black residents. More than half a dozen officers have reportedly been recommended for termination or quit. A badge should NEVER be a license for discrimination! These allegations call into question traffic stops and use-of-force incidents involving these officers!
