The tax advantage is still a real thing though.
Just because the player is made whole regardless they're taking less to play in low tax states like FLA to not fuck around with RCA's where the money is locked for quite awhile. Vs clearing more every pay while working in a low tax state.
That benefit of paying less real dollars to players translates to potentially being able to make a better team because more players accept less.. allowing you to have more high end talent on your roster as you have more cap space.
It's still not a non issues, RCA's it's something teams, accountants, agents/players have used to help lessen that advantage No tax states have.
Agreed. A dollar of cap space is worth the same in every market. Florida's tax break belongs to the player, not the team.
What surprises me is how nobody talks about the RCA. Canadian teams can put part of a player's salary into a Retirement Compensation Arrangement. Once he retires outside Canada, he withdraws it at roughly 25%. Net result: the same tax as "no tax" Florida, sometimes less. And far less than New York, Massachusetts or California.
But sure, keep calling Canada a tax nightmare. #WeAreGoldStar!

i'd venture to say that line would do very well long term.
Marchenko and Nylander both RW's so because of that the top line i mentioned likely doesn't gain much traction. could have everyone on their natural wing vs 2 guys playing off wing on both lines.
Lol common Stetcher. Been good lately so i can't get too on him.. but yea ugly shift there in the D zone that leads to him taking a penalty when he panic'd after poor play.

Earnings next week. I dont know where the bleeding stops but this is something i want to own long term. the story is very compelling if they can execute.

Inter-divisional trades are rare but Montreal is likely the team in the Atlantic that could pull that off.. they have a lot of capital to acquire a high end player. Likely offering enough to make Tampa say yes.
