ALT The North Woods Art and Writing Workshop will take place on Friday June 26, 1:30-3:30pm. We will meet on Flagg Rd. across the street from the Coastal Institute. Join us for an afternoon of field sketching, journaling, and place-based making in the North Woods! Connect to and learn about local ecosystems and wildlife through art and writing. This workshop is free and open to all ages, and no experience is required. Workshop participants are encouraged to contribute their writing and art to the North Woods Field Guide. This community project combines science, traditional ecological knowledge, creative writing, and art about the University of Rhode Island’s North Woods. We aim to produce a “people’s field guide” that celebrates our woods as a communal space for teaching, research, recreation, and multimedia storytelling. We would love to include perspectives from your group members in our project.
