After Sydney Crosby took an embellishment penalty. His first in his career. You gotta love the people looking up at the screen and seeing the embellishment, and then the woman’s expression to Crosby and Crosby’s expression back. This is Class stuff.

President Trump, I’ve seen men bleed out in the Ardennes for a flag you’re not fit to hold, let alone wrap yourself in. You think bluster is bravery, but I’ve led men through hell—and you couldn’t march through rain without whining about your hair. You dodge the draft, praise dictators, and call that strength? Hell, I’ve stared down Rommel’s panzers and pissed in the Rhine. You, on the other hand, ran from bone spurs and hide behind Twitter like a pampered child playing general. You talk about purging patriots and locking up dissenters like that’s power. That’s not power—it’s cowardice wrapped in a cheap suit and a bad tie. I fought Nazis. You invite them. I liberated camps. You threaten to build new ones. I defended democracy with a .45 and a tank. You disgrace it with a pen and a podium. So let me make this crystal clear, sunshine: if you had stood before me in ’44 spouting this treasonous filth, I’d have court-martialed you so fast your gold toilet would’ve flushed itself. You are a disgrace to the presidency and to this Republic. And if you keep marching this country toward dictatorship, don’t expect history to salute you. It’ll spit. Peter Newberry

People keep saying tariffs will bring back American manufacturing. Here’s what that would actually require: ▪️5–10 years of sustained high tariffs across imports, not just from China, but from every country companies might pivot to (Vietnam, Mexico, India, etc.). Anything less and production just shifts—not reshapes. ▪️A deliberately weaker U.S. dollar to make American labor look cheaper globally. That also means inflation, higher consumer prices, and weaker purchasing power for years. ▪️Massive government investment — not just tax credits, but actual funding for domestic infrastructure, port expansion, energy grids, raw material processing, and critical manufacturing capacity. You can’t reshore anything without a foundation. ▪️Workforce development at scale. We’d need a nationwide push to train welders, machinists, toolmakers—skills we stopped teaching at scale 30 years ago. That’s years of education reform. ▪️Corporate commitment despite higher costs. U.S. labor and regulation aren’t cheap. You’d need major brands to stay here even when it hurts profits. That only happens if they believe the tariffs are permanent. ▪️Policy stability. No company is going to spend billions reshoring if the tariffs might vanish with the next election cycle. So unless there’s bipartisan support (lol), the whole thing is politically fragile. ▪️ Consumer pain tolerance. Everything from electronics to food to building materials would cost more. Americans say they want “Made in the USA,” but no one is willing to spend 25% more. ▪️And finally — accepting widespread unemployment. Thousands of businesses that rely on imports would likely shut down — distributors, wholesalers, e-commerce brands, and retailers priced out of the market. But it wouldn’t stop there. As tariffs drive up costs across the board, every industry feels it — construction, manufacturing, hospitality, even services. When input costs rise and consumer spending drops, layoffs follow. Reshoring sounds noble until you’re staring down mass unemployment, not just in trade, but across the entire economy. That’s the real price of going it alone.
