Ahead of one of the biggest regulations changes in the sport's history, I wrote a piece on how teams might approach the new challenge with the aid of simulation tools:

Ok so first of all, I wasn't expecting to get a random mail shot from a cremation company today.
Their email address is something of an oxymoron, for starters.
It's a good job we don't have tyres with a track record of blowing up at high speed otherwise this could be a really dangerous corner!
Oh wait.
Well at least the car can't bounce back off the barrier into the path of another car.
Oh.
Charles Leclerc went off into the barriers at Turn 22, causing an early end to FP2
Thankfully he was able to get out of the car himself and confirm he was ok

Thread time! If you ever feel useless, read on...
I went back to my parents house recently while they were away from home to check on the cat and stay the night. It's dark, and I step on some moss on the way in, leaving muddy footprints on the carpet.
I feed the story back to my parents, who are by now in stitches.
Then the bombshell.
Dad says, "You know that it doesn't actually suck anything up if it's not unlatched at the base, right?"
No.
No I did not.
If you ever feel useless, just be glad you're not the guy who pushed a hoover around a hallway carpet on his hands and knees because he couldn't find the switch, only to find out a week later that he was merely distributing moss into lots of little tiny pieces.
