Bottom trawling employs more than 20,000 people in the EU & lands over 25% of our seafood. Demonizing it ignores its socio-economic value. Without it, the EU's 70% reliance on imports with lower standards will soar. #BlueEconomy

Bottom fishing is essential to Europe’s food system and coastal livelihoods. It accounts for 25% of EU landings by weight and value, contributes 35% of EU fleet revenues and supports thousands of jobs at sea and onshore. We call for balanced, science‑led management.
