There has been an improvement in Eskom week-on-week energy availability factor (EAF) for week 31, 2023, from 57.3% to 59.0%, as unplanned outages reduce from 34.07% to 32.83 % & planned maintenance reduces from 7.52% to 7.25. However the trend is not unusual for the time of year.
Herewith the latest energy availability factor (EAF) data for Week 30, 2023. I am wondering whether, with the higher levels of renewable energy in the system, we are entering a new phase where Eskom's low EAF no longer defines the level of loadshedding we experience...

.@NERSA_ZA announces an electricity price increase of 18.65% on 1 Apr 2023, and a further 12.74% increase on 1 Apr 2024. This is a total electricity price increase of 33.7% over the next 2 years.
