Very disappointing loss for Borac in the end. Lots of possession in the 2nd half but no real width or urgency to unsettle Mjällby's defense. And to lose it on this goal..
If 7-8 pts is needed to finish top 24, I'm afraid it's an uphill task for Borac now. Atalanta at home and Hearts away next, almost certainly can't afford 2 defeats there.
This was there for the taking for them. Just never felt like they really believed it was, despite being the technically better side for most of the game.
Good half from Borac. Clearly came to put the ball on the floor and play, done well to deal with Mjällby's high press and bypass it.
Just lacking that final touch on the moves they're creating. Juričić really should have scored at the end there after some interplay between Deket and Savić.
The much-talked-about 🇧🇦 youngsters looking good again. Jurkas had a big reflex save to keep it at 0:0, Deket helped conjure up two of Borac's best chances and always a presence in that attacking third. Showcased his physical strength well in a few 1v1 duels too.
Same lineup for Borac as against KuPS in the last matchday.
Marinović deciding to go for it away from home in Europe in what is probably Borac's best chance of getting a result on the road with their schedule. Mjällby is 12th in the Allsvenskan this year, probably will stay up at this point but far from Europe and the team that won the title in Sweden last year.
No natural DM and Deket in again working off Juričić up front. Hiroš has done very well in that deeper #8 role as of late, credit to Vinko and his staff for figuring out how to fit Hiroš, Savić, Jojić, and Deket in the same midfield successfully. Interested to see how it goes here today.

UEFA Conference League – Matchday 3
Mjällby vs. Borac Banja Luka
🕕 18:45
🏟️ Olympia Stadium, Sweden
7*
🇨🇦 Jovan Ivanišević (2005)
🇿🇼 Shane Maroodza (2004)
All 7 coming from 2 clubs, Borac (4) and Sarajevo (3).
The form of our strikers called up this month since the last international break has been very impressive.
Jovo Lukić (🇷🇴 U. Cluj) - 🅰️🅰️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Ermedin Demirović (🇩🇪 Stuttgart) - ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Haris Tabaković (🇦🇹 Salzburg) - ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Matej Deket (🇧🇦 Borac) - ⚽️⚽️
Samed Baždar (🇧🇪 Sint Truiden) - ⚽️🅰️
22 goal contributions between them, including a couple of hat-tricks from Tabaković and Lukić.
Would also give a mention to two more strikers in very good form that could be of NT consideration next year:
Luka Juričić (🇧🇦 Borac) - ⚽️🅰️🅰️⚽️🅰️⚽️🅰️⚽️
Luka Kulenović (🇭🇺 Györ) - 🅰️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Obviously there's still also the long shot of Dženan Pejčinović; either way, who'd have thought the first month of the post-Džeko era would play out like this?
No way to replace him with one player like-for-like, but having multiple forwards in good form and of different ages/profiles could make the transition a little smoother. Certainly something we couldn't have said at any point in the last few years when he was around.
5 players called up this month for their respective senior national teams in the Premijer Liga BiH:
🇧🇦 Matej Deket (2009)
🇧🇦 Mladen Jurkas (2007)
🇲🇰 Agon Elezi (2001)
🇲🇰 Damjan Shishkovski (1995)
🇲🇰 Sebastián Herrera (1995)

🚨🟠⚫️ Jakirović eyes Croatian or Bosnian reinforcements for Hull!
🇭🇷🇧🇦 Hull’s coach wants to bring in an international from either country, naming Fruk, Pukštaš, Stojković, Radeljić and Galešić as potential candidates.
Any move would need agreement within the club, with Jakirović stressing that recruitment is a collective decision.
⏳ Names under consideration — no bids or negotiations confirmed.
Who would be the best fit for Hull? 👀

The Balkans are the most impatient in Europe when it comes to giving managers time and riding through periods of poor results, as this list shows.
8/10 clubs in the Premijer Liga BiH have had their manager for 4 months or less, only Vinko Marinović (Borac) and Bojan Regoje (Čelik) have been with their clubs for over a year. Ognjenović lasted exactly 4 months at Sloga before getting sacked.
Projects constantly started and thrown away at these clubs, similar to how there's a big turnover of players in 6-12 month cycles. Definitely one of the biggest issues when following this league and/or the overall region.

Feel for him a bit, his Rudar and Sloga teams played decent stuff at times, but the results didn't consistently follow. Losing at home to bottom-of-the-table Velež was the nail in the coffin.
🇧🇦 WWIN Liga Team of the Week - Round 12:
U-26 Players:
🇷🇸 Andrija Marković (2002) - 🛡️ v. Široki Brijeg
🇭🇷🇧🇦 Antonio Ilić (2005) - ⚽️🅰️ v. Željezničar
🇧🇦 David Čavić (2002) - ⚽️ v. Sarajevo
Other players born 2000 or later who made an impact this round:
🛡️ - 🇧🇦 Faris Ribić (2003)
⚽️ - 🇧🇦 Danilo Teodorović (2002), 🇩🇿🇫🇷 Samy Faraj (2001)
🅰️ - 🇧🇦 Albin Omić (2004), 🇦🇹🇧🇦 Denis Dizdarević (2004), 🇲🇰 Agon Elezi (2001)
Only 3 younger players in the TOTW this time, but still a productive week across the board. Ribić with his 3rd shutout in just 5 league games, Teodorović with another goal, Ilić continuing to stand out and became joint top scorer in the league, and a 5th goal in 7 rounds for Čavić. Faraj with a stunning first goal for Čelik against the champions.
4th week in a row in the TOTW for Ilić, 3rd in a row for Čavić.
Only just turned 19 and already has a few special, big goals in big moments in his professional career.
Someone not afraid of the spotlight and always willing to take risks and responsibility. Can only imagine how many more like these we can look forward to for the next 20 years.

Decent player, has grown quite a bit this year. Didn't get much of an opportunity last season until the final games but has become an important figure this term.
Left-footed AM but can play deeper and higher, even seen him out wide a few times, has developed a knack for scoring goals and is one of Verl's few bright spots this season.
Aged out unfortunately for the U21 NT as he's 2004-born, but a player I'd like to see for a higher 3. Liga/lower 2. Bundesliga club and test himself in a better club. Verl isn't at the level they were the last two seasons when they fought for promotion.
Might not follow the same trajectory as Huseinbašić (who he replaced at Offenbach when Denis went to Köln) but could still have a career at a decent level.
Thought he was going to sell himself to a bigger club/league with the World Cup, but was stifled due to our overly defensive tactics like every other attacking player, and didn't start the one game where we played more on the front foot against Qatar.
But he's continuing to go up a gear each season, 10 G/A in 13 league games already this term for Plzeň. 3 assists in 9 minutes today. Back to his best as of late.
A winter or summer transfer in 2027 is imminent at this rate, many clubs would surely love to have a versatile, fast, and two-way wide player who is an established international and relatively cheap.
And now 6 weeks since becoming the 4th youngest to play in Premijer Liga BiH history, Leto becomes the 2nd youngest to ever start a league game at 16 years, 1 month, and 21 days.
Coincidentally, the youngest to ever start in the league is also on the field for Sarajevo today; 🇧🇦 Matija Glogovac (2006), who started for Leotar on his league/pro debut away to Borac in 2022 at just 16 years and 22 days.
Not only that, but 🇧🇦 Muhamed Dreca (2010) also debuted today for Sarajevo off the bench by coming on for Leto, becoming the league's 8th youngest player at 16 years, 2 months, and 22 days, and the 2nd player born in the 2010s to play any minutes, after Leto became the first just 6 weeks ago.
Some promising domestic talents currently in Sarajevo's setup to keep an eye on.
🇧🇦 Vedad Leto (2010) made his debut today for FK Sarajevo's first team, becoming the youngest player to play an official game in club history.
4th youngest in Premijer Liga history, only 5 days older than Deket when he debuted last October. Also the first player born in the 2010s to play any minutes in the league.
Exciting CM prospect, now he's off to represent the U17 NT this week. @SarajevoFooty
Fun game yesterday between Čelik and Borac, with Borac coming from behind twice to win 4:2 in Zenica. Could even have been 3-4 more goals easily between the sides.
Bojan Regoje took a gamble with a high line/high energy approach in the first half, but the usual problems with defending balls into the box for Čelik cost them. Two leads but didn't hold either for long and Borac took control in the 2nd half as Čelik's energy levels dropped again.
Stunning goals from 🇧🇦 Faruk Gogić and 🇩🇿🇫🇷 Samy Faraj (born 2001), both being their first for the club. Potential goal-of-the-season contenders in BiH and probably the best goals you'll see anywhere this weekend in the world. Jurkas didn't have a chance with either.
