ALT A research recruitment advertisement reads, Exploring the use of AAC by children and young people with Down syndrome: perspectives of speech and language therapists. Who can participate? We are seeking the views and experiences of UK speech and language therapists who support or have recently supported children and young people with Down syndrome aged 3 to 18 years. The aim of this research is to find out about your experiences and perceptions of unaided AAC (e.g. keyword signing) and aided AAC (e.g. symbols or voice output communication aids) in supporting the communication of children and young people with Down syndrome. Participation will involve the completion of an online survey containing a mix of open and closed questions, taking approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete.
