If proving me wrong requires destroying my name, you weren’t defending truth. You were feeding something darker. Disagree with me. Please. I'll even buy you a soda while you do it. But the day your disagreement starts needing a whisper campaign, a fake smile, and three WhatsApp groups, it stopped being disagreement. That's war.

IMF/WORLD BANK MEETINGS END IN BANGKOK It has been a beehive of activity here in Bangkok, Thailand for the last one week especially at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. One of the last engagements was the 54th meeting of International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) which advises and reports to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board of Governors on the management and supervision of global monetary and financial system. Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury (PSST) @rggoobi as well as the Governor Bank of Uganda, Michael Atingi-Ego attended the meeting chaired by the Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Aljadaan whose term of office was also extended for one year during the meeting. Aljadaan said the global economy has weathered the latest in a series of shocks better than expected, adding that buffers have been eroded and resilience cannot be taken for granted. “Wars and conflicts continue to impose a heavy humanitarian toll, with large economic costs and significant negative spillovers. Disruptions to supply chains and trade tensions are adding to uncertainty and price pressures,” he said. He said priority will be given to promoting macroeconomic and financial stability through sound and consistent macroeconomic policies and multilateral cooperation, adding that Central Banks remain strongly committed to ensuring price stability consistent with their respective mandates. The IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said the world economy has been resilient but that resilience is getting depleted and her advice was that members must rebuild buffers, reduce debt, strengthen cyber resilience, embrace artificial intelligence (AI), detect and address vulnerabilities and be courageous to implement the necessary reforms. The key message for sovereigns is that fiscal vulnerabilities should be urgently addressed and consolidation efforts should be advanced, supported by credible medium-term frameworks to ensure fiscal and debt sustainability. #IMFWorldBank2026

In a bid to strengthen communication across the 39 Dioceses of Church of Uganda, the PaxTel team, led by Hamilton Telecom Group CEO Mr Otaremwa Otuhumurize @ota1978, today met with the Provincial Secretariat’s management team, led by the Provincial Secretary, Rev Canon William Ongeng, and the Provincial Treasurer, Mr Balaam Muheebwa in Namirembe, to review progress in the Church of Uganda–PaxTel partnership. @Paxtel_mobile is developing a Church Management System to enhance communication, facilitate digital giving, strengthen accountability and support effective governance. The system will also enable @ChurchofUganda_ to collect and maintain reliable data on its Christian population, schools, health facilities, land and other assets, providing a stronger foundation for planning and decision-making. His Grace @Archbp_COU’s charge to us is clear: we cannot use old tools to address new challenges. Embracing these digital solutions is a practical step towards building a digitally empowered Church, better equipped to serve its people and advance its mission in an ever evolving global technology landscape.

I was happy to meet Hon. Rachael Magoola, with whom I served in the 11th Parliament. Our shared passion for the creatives industry has always united us. I hope to join her on 27th November 2026, at Kingdom Kampala for the Rachael Magoola @ 60 event, where she will also launch her foundation. It is a milestone moment, and a fitting one for someone who has given so much to Uganda's creative sector, from championing artists to making music herself with the Afrigo Band. I encourage all friends, colleagues, creatives, and partners to join us, celebrate her, and back the foundation's work. When we invest in creatives, we invest in talent, jobs, culture, and the future of our economy. @unescoug @SylviaOwori @Mglsd_UG
