Interesting chat on Sky this AM re cricket and juniors and the future.
I play in a league where it is being mandated that teams have a junior team over the coming years - a great approach and one I am all in favour of.
However, seemingly no support for clubs to do this…1/
…continue to deliver local cricket. Not forcing young people in that village to travel - putting yet another barrier in the way of participation.
For reference, the league is a fairly rural/semi-rural one. In our area, 6 teams cover a catchment area of 2 secondary schools.
Cricket, cricket teams and the people who give up their time to run them need support and encouragement, not blame and exclusion.

Not sure who i’d vote for anymore. But enjoying Mhairi Black (sorry, if sp, wine) and HFW. Honestly it’s nice just to hear a bit of real passion. HFW answer on GPs was about fibre but you know what…fine. Labour and Tory reps just look under prepared. #bbcqt
