مع انتهاء فترة عملي كسفير للاتحاد الأوروبي لدى ليبيا، أود أن أعرب عن خالص امتناني لفريقي ولشركائنا، وقبل كل شيء، للشعب الليبي، على هذه الرحلة المثمرة. كان لي شرف العمل في هذا البلد الجميل مرتين، وسأظل ممتنًا للغاية لكرم الضيافة وحسن الاستقبال الذي حظيت به في كل أنحاء ليبيا. مرة أخرى، تأثرت بشدة بكرم الشعب الليبي وصموده في وجه الصعاب. أغادر وأنا آمل أن يتحقق قريبًا تطلعنا المشترك والدائم إلى السلام والوحدة ومستقبل أفضل. As my mandate as Ambassador of the European Union to Libya comes to an end, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my team, our partners, and, above all, the Libyan people, for a deeply rewarding journey. It has been a privilege to serve twice in this beautiful country, and I remain profoundly grateful for the warmth and hospitality extended to me across Libya. Once again, I have been humbled by the extraordinary generosity and resilience of the Libyan people in the face of adversity. I leave with the hope that our shared and enduring aspiration for peace, unity and a better future will soon be realised. Arrivederci!

I had the privilege of meeting with H.E. Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba this afternoon, at the conclusion of my mandate as Ambassador of the European Union to Libya. We reviewed the continued deepening of the #EU-#Libya partnership and noted with satisfaction the progress achieved across many areas of mutual interest. We agreed on the importance of continuing to support the UN-facilitated political process, building on the outcomes of the “Small Convening” and other genuine international efforts to advance Libya towards national elections, renewed institutional legitimacy and national unity. I commended the Government’s efforts to advance the unification of the national budget, strengthen transparency and accountability, support economic and social development, and contribute to national dialogue and efforts to reunify Libya’s institutions. I reiterated the EU’s readiness to continue supporting Libya in all areas of common interest. I expressed the European Union’s, and my personal, deep gratitude to the Prime Minister and his cabinet for the excellent dialogue, cooperation and openness they have consistently extended to the EU and to me throughout my mandate. As I conclude my service in Libya, I conveyed my sincere wishes for an ever-deepening EU-Libya partnership, and above all for the success of the Libyan people and a future of stability, unity, prosperity and peace.
