When my husband died, because he was so famous and known for not being a believer, many people would come up to me-it still sometimes happens-and ask me if Carl changed at the end and converted to a belief in an afterlife. They also frequently ask me if I think I will see him again. Carl faced his death with unflagging courage and never sought refuge in illusions. The tragedy was that we knew we would never see each other again. I don't ever expect to be reunited with Carl. But, the great thing is that when we were together, for nearly twenty years, we lived with a vivid appreciation of how brief and precious life is. We never trivialized the meaning of death by pretending it was anything other than a final parting. Every single moment that we were alive and we were together was miraculous, not miraculous in the sense of inexplicable or supernatural. We knew we were beneficiaries of chance. . . . That pure chance could be so generous and so kind. . . . That we could find each other, as Carl wrote so beautifully in Cosmos, you know, in the vastness of space and the immensity of time. . . . That we could be together for twenty years. That is something which sustains me and it’s much more meaningful. . . . The way he treated me and the way I treated him, the way we took care of each other and our family, while he lived. That is so much more important than the idea I will see him someday. I don't think I'll ever see Carl again. But I saw him. We saw each other. We found each other in the cosmos, and that was wonderful. - Ann Druyan

The best analysis of this election you will read.
It’s polling day in the only democracy in the Middle East that is carrying out a genocide—and the big question on every Zionist’s lips is: Should we choose the guy who is currently destroying Gaza, or one of his rivals who think they could do a better job? Prime minister Voldemort seems unlikely to win this time around, but he might hold onto power if he can form a coalition with some of the most evil villains in existence. Again. Many Zionists think it’s time for Voldemort to step aside, but I don’t think we should forget his contribution to the Greater Israel Project. He’s the guy who funnelled $1 billion to Hamas and then ignored warnings about October 7 so he had an excuse for genocide. If it wasn’t for Voldemort, Gaza would still be standing, so we owe him a lot. On the down side, he keeps losing fights to Iran and also to an 11-year-old boy, and that’s a bit embarrassing. Voldemort’s main challenger is Sauron. He’s a controversial character because he prefers a moderate approach to genocide. He wants to make Israel look respectable while it expands its borders to encompass all of Middle Earth. The former IDF chief is known for his patient approach towards Lebanon known as the Dahiya Doctrine. Here’s what he once said about it: “What happened in the Dahiya quarter of Beirut in 2006 will happen in every village from which Israel is fired on... We will apply disproportionate force on it and cause great damage and destruction there.” Sauron has criticised Netanyahu for security failings on October 7, but he could not explain how he would’ve started genocide without those failings. The incoherence of his message is Sauron’s biggest weakness, but if he’s finally got the One Ring, this race is over. Western liberals are hopeful that a nice guy like Sauron can take control of Israel so that they can blame the country’s recent crimes on Voldemort. If he loses, there’s a real chance that Voldemort could face the wrath of the law. No, not for genocide, silly! Israelis will give Voldemort a medal for that. But he might have to pay one or two of the parking fines he’s been dodging. Accountability for politicians is what separates a real democracy like Israel from all those savage countries that it can’t stop bombing. Voldemort actually wanted to start bombing Iran again, so he could postpone repayment of those parking fines. However, the current IDF chief is too principled for that. He doesn’t want to start an illegal war until the matter of those parking fines is resolved. The other challengers in this election—Darth Vader, Skeletor, Mumm Ra, Mr Burns, Bowser, and Hannibal Lecter—are unlikely to win outright, but depending on how things pan out, could still find themselves as part of a coalition. Their views on genocide are certainly interesting. For example, Darth Vader wants to fire a Death Star at the last partially functioning hospital in Gaza, and publicly execute his opponents with a psychic throat grab. Skeletor wants to create a cosy holiday resort in Gaza and hopes to rebuild Castle Greyskull over the bones of Palestinian children. And Hannibal Lecter is eager to turn Gaza into a human cattle ranch. The other contenders are far too moderate for my liking and are best ignored. All that matters is that whoever wins, Palestinians will keep getting murdered, Trump will be blackmailed into restarting the Iran war, an Epstein statue will be built in Jerusalem, and everyone who criticises this insanity will be called an antisemite.

This is so poor. The Labour Government are utterly failing to meet the scale of this moment. And all because they're committed to the status quo. It's urgently time for change. Join.greenparty.org.uk
Sophy Ridge: "Burnham.. promised to end 40 years of neoliberalism.. that wasn't a budget to end 40 years of neoliberalism, right?" John Healey: "I would say that's wrong" Who knew you could dismantle decades of neoliberalism by making gherkins a tiny bit cheaper?

Excellent point here. This is why Farage had absolutely no problems with the £10 BILLION being laundered to Ukraine. He directly benefits from it.
Replying to @UnityNewsNet
The money isn't even being laundered in Ukraine. It's largely destined for UK defence contractors who supply to Ukraine. Zelensky and the UK War Pigs ostensibly work for them. Christopher Harborne's personal wealth has increased by a few £ billion in the last few days. He's been a major funder of Farage and Johnson before him. He owns around 14% of QinetiQ. He also owns quite a few senior civil servants.

Only in the UK could you be nominated for journalism awards for lying about a black man who was then hounded to death based on those lies.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

Claims that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a cocaine addict are false. Extensive investigations by international fact-checking organizations, including Reuters, Associated Press, Snopes, and NewsGuard, have repeatedly debunked these allegations as part of a coordinated pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign

1. The reason why we are all going to die is because we are already dead. I’m doing a talk about the report on the climate crisis produced by the British Insurance industry that predicts at least 4 billion deaths at 3C - the killing of half the world’s population. A man is huffing and tutting during the talk. In the small group discussion afterwards he tells me he wants to know exactly how the figure of 4 billion dead was arrived at. He wants to know exactly what the demand for change is, before he will decide whether or not to act. He is not connected to feelings, intuitions, imaginations. He only wants information and facts. He acts like a machine. And machines are not alive. They are dead. And if we continue to act like we are dead, then we will surely die.

This is not Gaza it's the West Bank. More than 1,500 Palestinians have been displaced, leaving over 250 families homeless. Notices have been issued to another 500 families to evacuate their homes.

Russia is giving Africa a voice and a forum - Putin The third Russia-Africa Summit was held in Moscow on October 28-29, bringing together representatives from 48 of Africa's 54 countries, including 22 delegations headed by heads of state. Putin co-chaired the plenary session together with African Union chair and Burundian President Ndayishimiye. Additionally, the Russian leader held a series of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the event. Africa matters. They need help against their old colonial masters and their ongoing exploitation.

Why so few views for this historic win by China!
The Chinese women’s gymnastics team dethroned the US to win the gold medal in the women's team event at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This marks China’s first world title in the event in 20 years, effectively ending the Americans’ bid for an eighth consecutive title. It also secured China a women's team spot at the @LA28 #Olympics.

Imagine spending 66 years under an embargo imposed by a country 90 miles away that has tried to assassinate your head of state over 600 times. And then being lectured by that country about democracy. Cuba has survived this. Cuba is still there. The lecture continues.
The Castro regime has profited at the expense of the Cuban people with luxury cars, expensive watches and a private island resort. As I shared this with the world, regime thugs rushed the stage to interrupt my speech. They can intimidate their own people in Cuba but think again about trying that nonsense in the United States of America.
