I submitted my buyout resignation to Microsoft today.
They rejected it.
Not because Iโm so valuable.
But because I donโt work at Microsoft.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the companyโs efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg.
Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible.
This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.
Insane programming alpha
Hidden in plain sight.
80s developers often went beyond what was generally accepted as a system's limit. They were true pioneers, pushing systems way beyond their initial hardware restrictions.
Geoff Crammond is probably best known for his stroke of genius when designing the Formula One Grand Prix games. However, his talent was visible much earlier when his game Revs (1985) was released.
The most remarkable thing about it was how it hid code in the sky and used extreme memory-packing tricks on a 32KB 8-bit machine. Because of the BBC Microโs memory limits, Crammond stored part of the actual game code inside the screen memory area.
Normally this would show up as garbage pixels. Instead, he used timer-based palette tricks so those โgarbage code pixelsโ were forced to blue. They disappeared into the sky and became invisible during play. This is the famous โcode in the skyโ technique.
Revs is widely regarded as a landmark of 8-bit programming efficiency and a key ancestor of modern sim racing.
Wow
Announcing 3 Critical vulns for hundreds of millions of IoT, Firewalls, OT, and Military devices including: Palo Alto Networks, Comcast, D-Link, HP, Canon, Honeywell, GE, Oracle, Siemens, Rockwell, Digi, Lockheed Martin, Boeing...
The vulns are with GoAhead Web Server which is a backend library used by these devices. There's a patch available from GoAhead but that doesn't mean there's a patch available for the devices yet -- that's up to the manufacturer.
- TLS traffic over DHE ciphers have a 1-byte secret, "04", meaning anyone can decrypt connections to these devices and steal login credentials and session tokens if the client negotiated with DHE ciphers like the latest TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256, which is extremely likely.
- LibreSSL mTLS has been completely bypassed, meaning anyone can connect over mTLS. If you have one of these devices listening on the internet and are expecting mTLS to protect it from attackers, take it offline or patch asap.
- OpenSSL Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) are not enforced, meaning if a user device is stolen or compromised, and you revoke that mTLS cert, nothing actually happens. There are a lot of other attacks this can be used for.
These are critical because these types of devices run our world. Water systems, electricity, military, firewalls, critical infrastructure.

At least I get a seat. Absolutely rammed by Twickenham.
Still my 30 minute train turned into a 15 minute drive and a 1 hour 15 minute train to waterloo instead of Lizzy to Liverpool st.
Wake up at 5 check trains fine.
Check trains at 6 fine. Check trains at 7 disaster. 10am near Liverpool st so going from winersh to Waterloo but man the trains just arenโt reliable anymore (yes this is almost entirely a suicide in this case,
Happens more often than you think )
Saas website starting to look fire now. Path to POC underway. Made some big changes from the first step of the ladder so when we get to next test much close to the shipped system . Numbers look good so far!
When Anthropic IPOS it will have to constrict tokens to reach profitability. Max those subs while you can!!
Got hit with an AWS bill so decide to vibe code my own. Then realised I didn't want to pay support for Linux either so started work on my own 64 bit os. . Then I realised that greedy Network companies were taking money of me so ordered some components from Ali express to build my own networking stack. Sure my app development is taking a back seat but think of the $ saved!
