Handel’s decision to include not just one or two, but FOUR horns was therefore both bold and highly innovative, creating a striking and distinctive sound for the audience. 📸 L-R: Anna Drysdale, Peter Moutoussis, Joe Walters, and Ursula Paludan-Monberg #Handel #GiulioCesare

We’re delighted to share that Early Opera Company has been awarded a grant from the @ContinuoFndn to support an upcoming concert later this year, promoted by @templemusicfdn! This performance is generously supported by The Continuo Foundation and Blackstone Chambers

And that’s a wrap! It has been a tremendous privilege to be part of the @GrangeFestival production of Handel's extraordinary masterpiece, Giulio Cesare, with such a wonderful cast, creative team, stage and technical teams, and orchestra. 📸 Richard Hubert Smith

Set within the neoclassical beauty of The Grange in Hampshire, The Grange Festival is a true celebration of opera and theatre, established by centuries of cultural tradition.

Handel’s Giulio Cesare turns history into high drama in one of his most celebrated opera serias. When Caesar arrives in Egypt and discovers Pompeo has been murdered, he is drawn into a dangerous game between Cleopatra and her brother Tolomeo as they battle for the Egyptian throne
