Welcome back any time!
Thank you for letting me join you and kick off your return. It was fun to spend time with @Eli_Runs & Tony Yakahama!
Weeeeeee're baacccck! Check out our "exit interview" with outgoing @tcmarathon Executive Director (and @Eli_Runs's boss!) Virginia Brophy Achman:
@ApplePodcasts: bit.ly/3VjiQBN
@spotifypodcasts: bit.ly/3PO0ckh
@google Podcasts link coming soon . . .
Folx, it’s official—@scott_n_ready is one of us now!
Considering adding “#2 running podcast in Croatia” to the bio. Seems like something everyone should know.
Update! @Eli_Runs has gotten three unprompted compliments on this interview “in the wild.” Definitely worth a listen, and now available on Google Podcasts (or wherever else you get your podcasts) after a slight delay: bit.ly/3NQ6cGG
Our interview with @RagnarRelay and @FitLabInc’s Tanner Bell is up:
Apple Podcasts: apple.co/3y6gFbh
Spotify: spoti.fi/3bHzvxG
Google Podcasts is dragging its feet, but it’ll be there eventually, too…
Enjoy!

Letting things cool off before dropping out too-hot-to-handle youth marathoning episode. But to tide you over ‘til then, an interview with @RagnarRelay and @FitLabInc’s Tanner Bell drops tomorrow—be on the lookout in your podcast player thing-ys!
.@BSIMEvents is looking for someone to fill the (literally and metaphorically) big shoes of retiring industry veteran Doug Thurston.
Looking for a great job in the running industry? @BSIMEvents is looking for a new executive director (full-time). Apply here: indeedhi.re/39eBl8s
For anyone wondering if supply chain issues are still affecting events: cbc.ca/amp/1.6471352
New addition to the modern day running industry’s mandatory reading list by @katebldwn (h/t to essential follow @HistoryRunner for spreading the word): tandfonline.com/eprint/3JRKZ…
Great to see the @Carlsbad_5000, which nearly folded, seemingly rejuvenated with over 4,000 combined finishers and strong elite fields in today’s races. Would’ve been sad for this gem to disappear.
After conducting the interview, can confirm, if you like being angry at people on the internet you think are wrong, then this upcoming episode is a must-listen (and the ECT Pod will be the person you get angry at for being “wrong”).
Prepping for a special pod on youth running long distances, with an interview with one of the world’s premier medical experts on the topic. Also prepping for massive blowback when the internet hears what the science says . . .
With @IBXRun10, @PGHMarathon, @EugeneMarathon, @KDFMarathon, and various significant local races (like @getingearevents in Eli’s Twin Cities market), the last weekend of April/first weekend of May is a sneaky high-key road racing weekend.
Thoughtful event transportation planning is another area we can all make a difference in our events’ sustainability footprint. And the unique location of their event lets @GrandmasMara’s have some fun with their race morning participant transport options!
Taking the train or the bus is the only way to get to the Grandma's Marathon start line 🚋Each year, approximately 234,000 pounds of CO2 are avoided by requiring runners to take a bus or the train. Happy Almost-Earth Day 🌎

Got an interesting sustainability question from a listener about today’s pod: what do you do with your medals, post-event? Any ideas or best-practices to share, Early Risers? @CEM_MikeNishi @michaelclemons @ghaapala @CouncilForSport
New pod! As Earth Day nears, we talk to @CouncilForSport ED Shelley Villalobos in a far-ranging interview covering everything from college softball, to Mad Max: Fury Road, to Wendell Berry. Enjoy!

Eli means this literally. If you don’t register for the @tcmarathon, unless you’re his partner or a co-worker he probably won’t see you August-October. (And he definitely won’t call—sorry, Mom!)
