Join the big plastic count, and send a powerful message to the government. We need to reduce plastic, a lot of which is sent abroad to countries that don’t have the infrastructure to deal with it

Shameful behaviour by P&O. As a seafaring town #Eastbourne should stand in solidarity with workers at Dover and elsewhere. Will @Caroline_Ansell join other MPs from all sides in condemning this monstrous act by P&O’s Dubai based owners? #ShameOnPandO
Solidarity with @RMTunion and @nautilusint members at Dover and elsewhere as P&O ferries attempts to sack entire UK workforce and replace with sham agency staff. UK government must make clear that there is no place for Dubai-style labour standards here. telegraph.co.uk/business/202…
Absolutely stunning performance last night from Heather Alexander. Look out for the show at other venues- guaranteed excellent night of theatre! #theatre #eastbourne #woolf @CharlestonTrust

We always knew that the great @billybragg had impeccable taste! His new album was recorded in #Eastbourne and even features our Wheel on the album cover!

I am so ashamed to be English ATM -a white middle- classed man. The UK is in a v bad place. I am so sorry this is how your family have been made to feel. We are not all like that. I hope you find the places where there is strength and happiness in diversity-that’s our Britain 🥰

Sad to hear this..there are some wonderful people in this country, try to find some and make life look a little different for you. So many people are standing up and supporting the young lads in the English team....so many positive vibes around..hoping you feel better soon 😊

The issue is that we are always told that England is not our country, that we can never be English....even when born here 2 or generations later.

Saka was brilliant in the games leading up to the final. I knew all three would face racist abuse after the final. Disgusting. They’re lovely young men who should hold their heads up high. Only a few players are chosen to play for their country.

I am so sorry that your stepdad had to make that choice (the right one, sadly) and I am so sorry that you hate it here. As a white, 63 year old woman who lost a Black partner to a violent racist attack 30 years ago, I just want to say I have fought this for over 40 years. Hugs x

This is so sad Sha. It hurts my heart. I’m scared for everyone in England right now but especially those of colour. I’m at a loss of how you can claim back your country from this hate. You should consider moving to Scotland. ❤️

Watching the game with my Italian husband last night. He was passionate about wanting Italy to win but as Rashford went up to take his penalty my husband said “I really hope he scores. Imagine the racist backlash if he misses” 😢.

Rashford is a tried an tested penalty taker but maybe badly influenced by Bruno. Evidence yesterday that the best in the world, jorginho, can also miss. Get off their backs,
Typical bad England fans, blame blame blame racist blame!

That’s awful, I am white and I am truly ashamed this morning. That young lad only 19 courageous enough to step forward and take his penalty- it was saved by a great goalie. It’s only a bloody game but unfortunately the minority of bigots spoil it for us all
