(1/2) How it works: you donate $20 to food relief efforts and you get a watermelon and they will buy a watermelon for a family to put in their weekly grocery box. Pre-order your watermelon by sending $20 through Venmo (@cattailcooks) or Paypal ([email protected])

(2/2) with your email and 'watermelon' in the description. They need you to send your email for instructions. If you do not have PayPal/Venmo, please email them. Last day to order is July 23 at 11am. Pick-up will be July 24 from 4-6pm at 5 Plessy Way. They will email more info!

(1/2) We are proud that the Eat Local Challenge and the NOLA Food Policy Advisory Committee recognize today, Juneteenth, as a holiday. We also acknowledge the working, and listening, and learning that needs to be done to honor and lift voices that need to be heard.

(2/2) We invite you to listen and learn with us. Start anywhere on these lists and work your way through them (and let us know in the comments what we’re missing)! Personal suggestions to start: New York Times limited podcast series 1619 and Clint Smith III ‘s “Counting Descent”
