Just left the Andrea Iyamah fashion show at Isimi Lagos, and I’m always blown away by the quality of Nigerian fashion.
I keep thinking about how much bigger this industry could be if we actually got the infrastructure right. From manufacturing to distribution and getting these products into the hands of people who want them, both here in Nigeria and around the world.
The level of creativity and craftsmanship in this country is ridiculous, and I genuinely don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface of what Nigerian fashion can become economically.
There’s a massive industry here waiting to be unlocked, and I hope we start taking that opportunity a lot more seriously.
Congratulations to Andrea Iyamah on 15 years. What an incredible achievement. 🇳🇬
baby the way we used to play with life

I’m confused here. Why is it a problem that Chinese companies are investing in manufacturing entities and infrastructure in African countries that create jobs to employ Africans (and ultimately reduce the flow of economic migrants to Europe and North America)?
Good @FT article about Chinese companies opening factories in Africa to serve the US market, generally tariff-free b/w AGOA and most African countries not facing Trump 301 tariffs.
US needs to rethink rules of origin—low tariff US-Africa trade should not benefit China….

There’s an Enron-type reckoning coming for the Nigerian tech ecosystem. And when that day comes, I don’t think people fully understand just how devastating the blast radius will be.

Manywellz says he believes he is more talented than most artists, respectfully.
These are the kind of unhinged political campaign text messages I get during election season in Texas.
This ad is doing SERIOUS damage to Republicans.
Especially in Texas.
It’s our patriotic duty to share this everywhere. 🇺🇸

Gave up college at 16 so his sister could go, then built a career that pays his bills. Full episode is out now.
Great conversation, and I got to design the thumbnail.
This episode is worth your time. Manny's story is the kind you remember.
At 16, @Mannywellz found out he didn't have papers.
He gave up college so his sister could go.
Today he's independent, on a Grammy-winning album, and his catalog pays his bills.
