Uber Eats agress to pay €110 million in outstanding social security payments they owe the Spanish government. This relates to the 60,000 false self-employed delivery riders the company had working for it between 2022-2025.
The practice was clearly illegal under Spain's Rider Law, yet it took the company 3 years to comply.

The report, from the Medical Council, the regulator for doctors, also warns of the serious hazards due to outdated computers, meaning some sick children are leaving without crucial discharge letters for their GP on essential follow-up care.
“A consistent concern across all grades was the absence of feedback after submitting reports, leading to frustration and disengagement,” the report said.
The inspectors found that some historic cases of unprofessional behaviour raised by senior management were not appropriately addressed.
