If you look closely at the 8 o’clock position from the Sun, halfway out this amazing image, you can see a comet in its death throes, just before it got vaporized.

Found this late. "The Shat" was in Indiana for the eclipse, his first at age 93.

Millions of viewers were wowed by last week’s total solar eclipse. Now, we get to see the eclipse from another angle: space.

This impressive video of a lightning apparently striking two cars, is a proof you're relatively safe not thanks to the tires, but because a car is a Faraday cage

Hold on to those eclipse glasses!
As long as the lenses are still in good shape, you can use them for safe solar viewing every day. Sometimes you can even see sunspots (darker, cooler spots on the Sun) with just your eclipse glasses, no magnification required!
This sort of spikey view is how the #EclipseOverCleveland might have appeared had we not had so much cirrus cloud. Not that I'm complaining!
Wide-field photos of the total solar eclipse taken by several astronomers along the path of totality, caught a comet approaching the Sun.

I feel real bad that Rochester was clouded out but it looks like that crowd had a good time with their shadow show.
IT WAS A "TOTAL SOLAR SHADOW SHOW"

The April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse in a blend of 18 exposures from short (for the pink prominences) to long (for the coronal streamers) to try to match the view by eye and telescope. Shot thru a 105mm refractor from Lac Brome, Quebec.

DEVIL COMET: Did you waste time during totality looking for it? In case you missed it (probably) here's some pix.

⚠️ A few people have posted Cathrin Machin’s painting of my 2017 eclipse photo, claiming that the photo is from the April 8th eclipse, and that it was taken by NASA/JWST. 😔 Please beware of misinformation.

Sad story from a woman who listened to the BAD ADVICE from the know-nothing ophthalmologists who ruined the eclipse for many.

"Kashmir" is one of the most important musical works of the 20th century, up there with Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue." With dual off-synch time signatures, "Kashmir" transcends mere rock-n-roll, remaining unique and iconic a half century later, a musical "total solar eclipse."
This doesn't seem very safe. You not only might get wet or bombarded with hail, but what if a lightning bolt arcs through your body halfway to the ground?

This amazing view of the April 8 total eclipse shadow traveling across the US was captured FROM THE MOON by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter! 🛰️🌕
