Just 2/ >100 Balkan Lizard #orchids of our campus! Himantoglossum calcaratum ssp. rumelicum (f. known as H. jankae) thrives herethe last few years, and is definitely the eye-catcher of the season with its showy inflorescence popping out of the almost dry grasses. #TeamOrchids ✌️

Great outing today with @EcoLab_BET & friends/colleagues, around the Metsovo area, Epirus (NW Greece 🇬🇷)!Spotted lots of great #orchids in diff #habitats, but Kalopissis’ orchid was my personal favorite of the day (a former Greek & currently #Balkan #endemic). #TeamOrchids 🫶
