And, let's be honest, BBC have treated its rugby league coverage as little more than an afterthought at times over the last few years. Promotion/advertising for games has been near non-existent, even for the Ashes last year.

So, it's all pointing towards a home series for @England_RL against New Zealand in 2027, with an Ashes series down under in '28. Hopefully a mid-season Tri-Nations against France and PNG can be sorted too. More games and preparation can only be beneficial for us.

2 changes made for Friday's must-win game against PNG. Morgan Knowles back from injury and replaces Victor Radley, who drops to the bench. Jez Litten wins back his starting spot in place of Brad O'Neil. Wouldn't be surprised if O'Neil is a late inclusion to the bench. #RLWC26
The squad has been named for our final group game against Papua New Guinea 🏉 #EnglandRL 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

It would be great if they could do that! The only true way to grow the international game is, funnily enough, to have more international games. Who knew?

It would probably help things if they moved origin to weekends, and played the games on consecutive weekends. That would open up a proper international window our NRL players could come back for.

I'm not sure the NRL players are able to play internationals until after the season finishes. In the past the mid-season England teams have had to be from Super League only. It may become possible for NRL players mid-season, from 2028, when the NRL deal goes through

It was unfortunate there were so many this weekend, but you're right. Even the rugby union world cup always has a load of blowout scores in the group stage. Just an inevitably in such a full-on collision sport.

But would she want to leave a winning team for one in complete disarray?

If it is rigged (big if), we can't complain because we (probably) rigged the last world cup draw to avoid both Australia and New Zealand until the final.

England v Papua New Guinea France v Lebanon Fiji v New Zealand Samoa v Tonga What a final week of the group stages we have in store! Anyone taking a punt on Cook Islands to sneak one over Australia? #RLWC26

But they said this world cup will just endless blowout scores. What a performance from @Fiji_RL! #RLWC2026

(2/2) France are on the right path to getting better. 2 teams in Super League, and both committing to promoting top French talent. They need more games and can only benefit from playing the tier 1 nations regularly. But they will definitely get there - like Italy in Rugby Union

(1/2) Some may ridicule this, but what the hell France are not as bad at Rugby League as their last two scorelines. The fact is the majority of their squad arrived exhausted following their first super league campaign. Exhausted mid-table SL players v NRL stars. No contest.

That'd be a serious test for England, if they could get that lineup signed up! Add France into the mix, they'll benefit from games against us and the Exiles, and we've got a cool Tri-Nations style event on our hands.

If England are playing a series against New Zealand next year, they need prep, they 100% have to play a warm up match. Super League should be having an international break every year. I’m a big believer in the Super league Exiles concept. My potential 2027 line up.
