We will finally have oral argument today in the Trump criminal case. Judge Juan Merchan committed a series of fatal flaws in the trial. jonathanturley.org/2025/01/1… Not only was the legal theory of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg absurd, but Merchan compounded the reversible issues with a series of equally absurd rulings, including allowing a non-unanimous verdict on the underlying criminal conduct...

JD Vance wants an honest conversation about why Republicans got wiped out last night, so let's have one… because his very long post covers the war, cost of living, Israel, amnesty and a couple of pollsters, and never once uses the word accountability or asks a single question about the system that counted the votes. He says our voters showed up, Florida came in 9 points more Republican than Democrat, turnout was fine, and the real reason we lost is the war, the president said so himself, end of conversation. And look, I am not going to pretend people are happy about a war they never voted for and gas and groceries they cannot afford. That is real. But you want me to believe the same people who stood in line for hours for Trump in 2024 woke up two years later and handed the House and the Senate to the other side, and the machines, the voter rolls, the mail-in ballots and the same rotted system we have been screaming about since 2020 had nothing to do with it? Come on. Here is the reality. You had the White House, the House and the Senate for two years. What changed? Did we get paper ballots? Did we get clean voter rolls? Did we get voter ID? Did a single person who rigged 2020 ever see the inside of a courtroom? No… we got speeches, we got promises, we got wait until the next election, and now the next election is here and they are telling us it was the war. The people who walked away did not walk away over one thing. They walked away because they watched the people they elected leave the guilty untouched while the traitors kept organizing, kept funding and kept building the machine that just took the Republic out from under us in a single night. There's your honest conversation, JD. Not a pollster's top four list. And then he tells the people who are angry to take that energy and go elect Republicans who share their worldview… we did that. We gave you everything. And what we got back was a war and the same elections they have been gaming for decades. @realDonaldTrump, you have until January before this Congress is gone. Use it. Secure the elections, hold the people who stole them accountable, and stop letting the people around you tell us it was the war. Pray, Stand, Speak, ACT.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

This is a total hoot. About the only thing it gets correct is that 2024 Trump voters were "pissed." As the polls spell out, very clearly, they were angry about tariffs--a word weirdly not found in this post, but which exit polls showed 65% of voters dislike. There's a straight line between those punishing costs and Senate losses in Kansas, Iowa, Ohio (farm areas) and beyond. Angry the WH instead spent this past year talking about ballrooms and the Kennedy center. Frustrated by the complete absence of a next-two-year agenda (85% are concerned by healthcare costs. Where is the GOP plan?) They are also unhappy about the war, though the numbers might be different if the president been clear about an exit strategy. And not sure where the "smartest" (and most anonymous) pollster in the world got the Israel argument. Exit polls show that of the 51% of voters who said our support for Israel was "too strong," only 19% of even that subset of respondents were Republican. The vast majority of GOP voters said our support for Israel was "just right" or "not strong enough." Amusing to claim the problem here was traditional conservatives, as they were sidelined. Tillis was run out of the party, dooming NC. As was Cornyn. The WH had a pure expression of its second-term Trump/Vance agenda and loyalty in its chosen candidate of Ken Paxton. That would be the smoking carcass sitting on a 12-point loss in. . . Texas of all places. Meanwhile, who exactly is even talking about "asylum"? That's just a smear-y effort to preemptively shut down valid criticism. The GOP strength has always been in its coalition--free-marketers, defense hawks, cultural conservatives. Trump's first-term success came from largely following that Reagan playbook. The second-term leaned into me-too progressive populism--at the veep's urging--and it ain't working. The weird thing is that the veep remains more obsessed with remaking the party than with winning. Winning will require a lot better understanding of what happened yesterday than what is on offer in this alternate-universe view.

So what if a Muslim wins an election in America and becomes a congressman or senator? Why is that any different from a Buddhist winning an election? Because Buddhism is a religion. Islam is a state. Islam has a population: the ummah. It has a constitution: Sharia. It has courts, criminal law, family law, taxation, rules for minorities, doctrines of war and peace, and a foreign-policy framework governing relations between the land of Islam and the lands outside it. The ummah is not tied to Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, or any other modern country. It crosses all of them. Islam's population "Muslims" belong to one political-religious community. That is fundamentally different from Buddhism. A Buddhist American may practice Buddhism faithfully, but Buddhism does not give him a second universal political order with its own law, sovereignty, territorial doctrine, and theory of government. Islam does. This is why reducing Islam to “just another religion” misses the point. Muslim officeholders are literally citizens of another existing country, and their loyalties can never be American first, because the two projects are contradictory. Add to that the religious hatred of Jews in Islam and the special relationship between Israel and America. A Muslim in a position of power in America, with a religious mandate to hate Jews, will not approach Israel from the perspective of what is in America’s best interest, but rather from the perspective of what Islam commands him to do.

FINE. LET'S NATIONALIZE SOMETHING. JUST NOT SPACEX. 🏛📰 Paul Krugman spent October arguing the government should take Starlink away from Elon over "national security." Seize it. Run it from Washington. Here's my counter-offer, Paul. Don't nationalize SpaceX. SpaceX is the one thing in America that still works. It lands rockets on boats and flies them again while NASA's own moon rocket costs about $4.1 billion a launch and gets thrown in the ocean. You don't seize the golden goose. You leave it alone and say thank you. But socialism deserves a fair test, right? So let's run the experiment on a dead industry instead. Let's nationalize THE PRESS. Seize the New York Times. The Atlantic. USA Today. MS NOW. NPR. Politico. The AP. Merge them into one government agency. Call it US NEWS. And here are the rules, because a real experiment needs rules: 💵 Every employee makes exactly the same salary. The Pulitzer winner, the anchor, the summer intern. Same check. From each according to his ability, comrade. 🚫 No 401k. No stock options. No signing bonus. No book deal. Their retirement is Social Security, the same system they keep telling you is perfectly fine. 🏥 Health coverage is Medicaid. Not the fancy employer PPO. The same Medicaid they write glowing editorials about. Enjoy the wait for a specialist. 👵 Mandatory retirement at 65. Then you're done. You can't go work somewhere else, because there IS nowhere else. The State owns the press now. That was the point. 🤖 Every article runs through @grok before publication, checking whether it's true, whether it's the WHOLE story, and whether the key fact got buried in paragraph 19 on purpose. 🏛 No ads. No billionaire owners. No subscriptions. Just the State and the Truth. 📝 Paul gets a desk. He can write about socialism, explaining exactly what it is: a failure on every level, every time it's been tried. Although I suspect Paul wouldn't publish much. The man wrote in 1998 that "by 2005 or so, it will become clear that the Internet's impact on the economy has been no greater than the fax machine's." He said people had "nothing to say to each other." He wrote that in a magazine. On the internet's doorstep. And now he's on Substack. Telling us who should run a satellite network. Why is the press the perfect test case? Because the industry is already dead and nobody will miss it. 📉 Gallup: only 33% of Americans have confidence in the media. Among Republicans it's 22%. In the 1970s it was around 70%. 📺 MS NOW is averaging about 52,000 viewers in the 25 to 54 demographic. Fifty-two thousand. In a country of 340 million. A decent high school football game outdraws them. 💸 Congress already pulled NPR's federal funding, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting shut down. So the patient is already on the table. Let's see what central planning does for it. And watch how fast the enthusiasm dies. The columnist who wants your money redistributed is about to discover that SHE has been redistributed. The anchor who calls billionaires immoral will learn his salary now matches the guy who empties the trash, and he is going to have FEELINGS about that. The reporter who wrote that Medicare for All is the only moral option gets to spend 40 minutes on hold with Medicaid about her knee. Everybody loves socialism right up until somebody applies it to THEM. My prediction? Within 18 months US NEWS puts out 400 pages a day that nobody reads, every reporter with talent tries to quit and finds out there's nowhere to go, and the only honest thing in the building is the AI fact-checker, which gets unplugged in month three for being "problematic." But hey. At least we'll have run the experiment on something expendable instead of the company that's the only reason America can still put a person in orbit. Leave the rockets alone, Paul. Take the newsroom. 🦋

My fellow Americans, Something broke in the Democratic Party. Their love of country has gone missing. Giving other people basic human dignity seems no longer necessary to them. What is right and wrong now depends on who has committed the wrong and why? Reason has given way to rage. Persuasion has been discarded for violent rhetoric and actual violence. Fraud, theft and voting irregularities and illegal voting now seem acceptable to them. Even justified. Leftists have more sympathy for criminals than for the victims of their crime. Their empathy for their fellow Americans must only be given to those with the same political beliefs. This unique American system of government with its checks and balances that has provided the greatest level of freedom and prosperity the world has ever known, they feel is now dispensable. What they offer to replace it is a socialist nightmare that has been responsible for the deaths of over 100,000,000 people in the 20th century. Perhaps even worse, the Left now flirt with the dangerous and Western Civilization enemy, Islam, which is completely incompatible with American freedoms, our constitution, women rights and gay rights, religious freedoms and free speech. An actual Hamas terrorist supporter, supported by the designated terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood, is running to be the next Senator of Michigan and may very well win. I remind my fellow Americans that our freedoms are inalienable and given by God and were fought and died for by patriots with their own blood. While the Republican Party is far from perfect, they will keep our borders closed from people who intend to harm our fellow citizens. Unlike Democrats, they will continue to protect our God given liberties and our Constitution and our system of justice and government. So I beseech you to do your duty and vote like your life, and your children’s life and freedoms depend on it. Because they do. God bless you and your family and God bless the United States of America! 🇺🇸 Love, Rob Schneider

Well, this is remarkable. We have not seen anything like it in our lifetimes. Pray for the men from el Salvador for their mission to succeed, pray for those they go to rescue, pray for all of Haiti & for those who are holding these men that they may know God. Nayib Bukele walks as a man with the hand of God upon his shoulders.
Nou pa gen okenn enterè ni pou nou vin domine pèp ayisyen an, ni pou nou mete men sou richès Ayiti. Nou se yon peyi modès k ap devlope. Sèl sa nou vle, se pou kat teknisyen avyasyon nou yo tounen lakay yo. Epi n ap bay gang yo yon leson, gang sa yo k ap fè pèp ayisyen an soufri, ki touye moun pèp la renmen yo, k ap anpeche l viv yon lavi nòmal, lib, san laperèz. Nou vin ann Ayiti pou nou goumen kont mechan yo. Men sa m ap mande nou: fè nou konfyans, lapriyè sèl vrè Bondye a, epi mande L pou L geri Ayiti. “Lè sa a si pèp ki pote non m lan lapriyè nan pye m, si yo soumèt devan mwen, si yo pran chache m ankò, si yo vire do bay vye peche yo t'ap fè yo, m'ap tande yo nan syèl kote m ye a, m'ap padonnen peche yo, m'ap fè peyi a kanpe ankò.” 2 Kwonik 7:14 Ede nou ede Ayiti. Epi lè misyon nou an fini, n ap tounen lakay nou. Petèt jenerasyon Ayisyen k ap vini yo ap sonje nou kòm zanmi ki te vin ede yon lè.

Rant: Got last minute travel today, so won't be doing a Democracy Files drop today. But saw that the person at the center of the files posted about "unimaginable horrors." Let me tell you why I got interested in "democracy" in the first place. I've told this story many times, but here again: I was DOGE adjacent from the very beginning. I was recruited by several DOGE teams in January 2025, because I was excited about the opportunity to finally cut spending and taming the national debt. Bu then - Tesla Takedown protests happened. People got so worked up that they were firebombing innocent Tesla owners. A viral website with a Molotov cocktail cursor prominently featured my husband's address. I was doxxed in the middle of that, and forced to flee the state and homeschool my children. That's when I started researching and writing UNELECTED. I quickly found the groups organizing and funding the civil unrest were all about "democracy." It made no sense to me. DOGE wasn't overturning elections. They were cutting obviously silly awards - given our national deficit, who would object to that? Silly me! Turns out "democracy" means diffused rule by unelected people, and all that USAID money going to marginalized groups to build a "civil society" is the foundation of that. So the immune system of "civil unrest" can be activated anytime, and terrorize anyone who dares to step out of line. Such as DOGE employees. Such as me and my family. That research trail led me all the way to DemAID (now DRG), a group of ex-USAID officers. Led by you and Ro Tucci. @iamlisalogan and @SKDoubleDub33 found DemAID on video taking credit for these protests. But this isn't about me. This is about the United States. And about the dozens of countries wrecked by color revolutions. You aren't solving polarization. You are the source of polarization, because in the process of building "civil society," you are displacing people's inborn allegiances and training them up to attack the very foundations a nation are founded upon. Nor is this about revenge or anger. I'm calling on everyone to pray that no more damage is done, and that we can find a path forward that preserves our Constitutional Republic.

Once everyone is exposed. Once the dying media is finally put to rest. By the end of these 4 years you will not only see the changing of the guard, you will see the overwhelming majority of the country fully embracing Donald Trump. You’ll call me crazy, you’ll be asking if I lost my mind. My response? Quite the contrary. You see Donald Trump has two purposes. One-To deliver his America First agenda, and to keep us safe which he is doing by ending the murderous regime in Iran. He’s brought in trillions of dollars in investments to our country which guarantees an insurmountable number of robust jobs back to America. He’s revitalized our military and shown the world firsthand what American might is all about with his historic entry into Iran & Venezuela His second purpose is to not only restore our Justice System but to bring those down who are responsible for tearing it apart. All the corruption, all the freebies, all money allocated for bullshit is done. Trump is exposing filth in real time and the corrupt media will be left with two choices. Report the truth or sign off the air forever. As Trumps term reaches year 3, I feel by then Trump will gain the confidence of the majority of the country from both parties. There will be no no denying the accomplishments he is bringing to this country. As for accountability we all are so desperate for? Let’s hope Ilhan Omar is the fuse being lit that starts the domino effect for arrests and indictments. I truly believe once the Democrats and the dirty Republicans are all exposed hopefully leading to arrests and indictments, the media who are paid to protect the evil will have no choice but to cover everything Trump in a positive fashion being forced to report the truth. Call it a pipe dream, call it whatever you like but the house of cards will be crumbling and that is when the Democrat party along with the rigged media will be put to sleep. It all starts by winning these midterms and ends with Trump delivering what he’s promised to the American people. A great America. It all starts by voting RED. A vote for RED is a vote for America. A vote for America is a vote to remove all illegals which will then open the the floodgates for American jobs for people of all colors. We are MAGA. We don’t discriminate. We are for all Americans thriving. We are for love thy neighbor and it all starts with your faith in God. The power of faith in God is the recipe for success. It reminds us all about what America was and will be once again. We must return God back into everyone’s life There is a reason Trump was spared from that bullet fatally ending him. Call it Divine Intervention. Call it what you like but with all the shots the Trump haters have taken at him he still stands tall delivering for the American people. Trump’s been protected by a much higher power. The American people are starting to open their eyes Our biggest fight is within. We must get our house in order. It starts by ridding those who are against everything we stand for. It starts by clearing house and getting rid of the do nothing RINOs, starting with Thune. Accountability must be at the forefront Forget what the media says. Trump is loved across the world. They line up just to get a glimpse of his passing car. That is love. That is respect. We the People all believe in this man. Trump is the chosen one. As time passes the doubters will realize everything the Dems and media sold them was nothing but bullshit. The grifters fucked up by abandoning him, now they are done They will realize Trump is here to help all Americans not destroy them. It will be at that time the love for Trump will finally catch on. Then our restoration of our America will be complete. Believe in the power of God. Believe in the power of Trump. Don’t be surprised when the people of this great country call for another 4 years. That’s how special this man is. That’s the power he brings. It all starts by voting RED. My two cents

I'm sorry but some of y'all conservatives are living in straight up denial. You have no idea how bad it really is right now. We are THIS close to losing our country and some of you are out here clutching your pearls over tone. Nobody gives a flying fuck if Vivek hurt some commie cunts' feelings. Nobody. Do you know what these people want to do to you if we lose? Do you really?! They're not hiding it anymore. They're telling you to your face. If we lose, it will be hell on earth. For you, for your kids, for your church, for everything you love. So stop worrying about being nice and start fighting like your life depends on it, because it does. Vote red on November 3rd and drag everyone you know with you 🇺🇸🔥💪
